oñcu (p. 81) கிறேன், ஒஞ்சினேன், வேன், ஒஞ்ச, v. n. As ஒஞ்சி. 42)

o (p. 81) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To resemble, to equal, to be like, to match, நிகர்க்க. 2. v. n. To be fit, be suitable, to consist with, be adapted to, தகுதி யாயிருக்க. 3. To be equal, be parallel, alike, to match, to tally, correspond, சமமாயிருக்க. 4. To agree, consent to, allow, yield in argument, பொருந்த. ஒக்கும். It will agree, be proper, suitable, fit, like the same. ஒக்கும்வகையினால். By mutual agreement. (El. 291.) (p.) ஒத்தகுடிப்பிறந்தோர். Those born in families of equal rank that may inter-marry. எத்தால்வாழலாம்--ஒத்தால் வாழலாம். [vul.] How may we prosper? we may prosper by promoting concord. அதனோடொக்கும்--அதற்கொக்கும்--அதையொக் கும். It equals or is like that. விதியெனினும் விகாரமெனினுஞ்செயற்கையெனினு மொக்கும். In grammar, விதி, விகாரம் and செ யற்கை are synonymes. வில்லொக்கும்புருவம். Eye-brows resembling a bow. மக்களேபோல்வர்கயவரவரன்னவொப்பாரியாங்கண் டதில். The base among men are formed like others. We see no other two classes of beings that do so resemble each other. ஒக்க, inf. [used adverbially.] Together with, in company with, கூட. 2. Plentifully, bountifully, numerously. ஒக்கக்கிடக்கிறது. There is abundance. ஒக்கப்படித்தவர். One who has learned much--commonly in sarcasm. ஒக்கப்பிறந்தவர்கள். Children of the same mother. ஒக்கவில்லை. There is not much. ஊரொக்கக்கொள்ளைகொண்டுண்டவன்சுற்றம் போல் வேரொக்கக்கெடுமூலவியாதியே. The hemorrhoids will be as thoroughly extirpated (by this specific) as the posterity of one who plundered the whole village. ஒக்கப்போக, inf. To join in company with. ஒத்த, rel. part. Conformable, suitable, consistent, equal. அப்படிக்கொத்தது. Such. பிறரைவருத்துவதற்கொத்தபாவமில்லை. There is no sin equal to that of afflicting others. ஒத்தசனம்--ஒத்தசாதி, s. Tribes, confederate castes linked together, securing general resentment of an injury done to any member of the respective communities. ஒத்ததரை, s. Level ground. *ஐராணி, s. oḷi (p. 84) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To hide, conceal, put out of sight, secret, cloak, மறைக்க. 2. To keep a thing unrevealed, to disguise, conceal in the mind, மனதிலடக்க. 3. v. n. To hide, steal away, elope, flee into concealment, lurk unseen, desert, பதுங்கியிருக்க. காரியத்தைச்சொல்லாமலொளித்துப்போட்டான். . . . He has concealed the matter. 2. He has not told the secret. ஒளித்துக்கொள்ள, inf. To conceal one's self, to hide, மறைந்துகொள்ள. 2. To conceal a thing, மறைத்துக்கொள்ள. ஒளித்துத்திரிய, inf. To stray, wander in private, in a state of concealment. ஒளித்துவிளையாட, inf. To play at hide and seek, கண்பொத்திவிளையாட. மோதிரமொளித்துவிளையாடல். The game or play of hiding a ring. ஒளிப்பு, v. noun. Hiding, concealing, concealment, lurking, ஒளிக்கை. 2. Absconding, slinking or stealing away, escaping, desertion, பதுங்குகை. 3. Secret, covert, disguise, மறைவு. ஒளிப்புமறைப்புப்பண்ணாமற்சொல்லு. Tell all, conceal nothing. ஒளிப்பாகச்செய்ய, inf. To practise vice secretly--commonly in concert. ஒளிப்பிடம், s. A hiding place, an ambush, a covert, மறைவிடம். 16)

oṟṟu (p. 84) s. A mute consonant, மெய் யெழுத்து. 2. Spying, espionage, searching, agency, வேவு. 3. A messenger, an agent or emissary, தூதன். 4. A spy, வேவுகாரன். ஒற்றர், s. Spies, searchers, emissaries, வேவுகாரர். 2. The confidential agents or messengers of a prince whether employed in his own dominion or another's, for a good or bad purpose, தூதர். ஒற்றராலக்கணத்தேயுணர்ந்து. Being acquainted (with the counsels of the enemy) at that time through the spies. (பார.) கன்னலொன்றளவைதன்னிற்கந்தவேளொற்றன்யா க்கை சின்னபின்னங்களாகச்செய்குவன். I would tear to pieces the body of Veeravagu, Skandar's emissary, in the space of an hour. (ஸ்காந்.) ஒற்றளபு--ஒற்றளபெடை, s. The insertion of a consonant in verse to lengthen the sound. See அளபெடை. ஒற்றாடல், v. noun. The act of directing spies. ஒற்றாளுதல், v. noun. Employing spies or secret messengers, தூதரையாளுதல். ஒற்றுக்கேடு, s. The elision of a consonant. ஒற்றுக்கேட்டல், v. noun. Overhearing. ஒற்றுப்பெயர்த்தல், v. noun. [in மி றைக்கவி.] Constructing a species of verse so artfully that, independent of the main sense, other meanings may be contained in it, மிறைக்கவியினோருறுப்பு--as அம்புத்தலை, the head of an arrow is அப்பு த்தலை, when the mute is hardened--which means the new head--besides the original meaning. ஒற்றெழுத்து, s. An inanimate consonant, மெய்யெழுத்து. ஒற்றொழிபாட்டு, s. A verse that contains no mute consonants, மெய்யெழு த்தில்லாப்பாட்டு. 27)

olli (p. 84) s. A thin person, ஒல்லியா னவன். 2. Thinness, being reduced, மென்மை. 3. [prov.] An empty, blighted cocoanut, உட்பசையில்லாததேங்காய். 4. A broomstick, து டைப்பம். ஒல்லிக்காய்ச்சி, s. A tree that yields, or has yielded blighted cocoanuts. ஒல்லித்தேங்காய்--ஒல்லிமேய்ந்ததே ங்காய், s. [prov.] A blighted, empty cocoanut used as a help in swimming. ஒல்லிமேய, inf. To grow empty, to be blighted as cocoanuts. ஒல்லியாள், s. A thin person, ஒல் லியானவன். 2)

oṇṇl (p. 81) (v. noun of an impersonal verb seldom used in the past tense.) Being able, competent for, being possible, தகுதல். 2. Being fit, proper, decorous, பொருந்தல். விலக்கொணாதே. It is inevitable. (வாசிட் டம்.) கையொண்ணாது. My hand is ailing. ஒண்ணாதது, appel. n. That which is unfit, improper, unable, பொருந்தாதது. ஒண்ணாதகாரியம், s. An improper, indecent, or unbecoming thing. 2. An impracticable, or impossible thing. ஒண்ணாமை, neg. v. noun. Inability, incompetency, impracticability, த காமை. 2. Ailment, illness, இயலாமை. 3. Unfitness, indecorum, impropriety, inadmissibility, பொருந்தாமை. 75)
