kākkāy (p. 103) s. [prov. காக்கை.] A crow, (c.) 2. (p.) The twenty-third constellation of the Hindus, அவிட்டம். காக்காயின்கண்ணுக்குப்பீர்க்கம்பூப்பொன்னிறம்... The yellow flower of a cucumber plant appears gold to a crow: i.e. trifles are of value in the eyes of a fool. காக்காய்க்குந்தன்குஞ்சுபொன்குஞ்சு. Even to a crow its young one is regarded as a golden one; i. e. the best. காக்காய்க்கொல்லி, s. A plant, ஓர் செடி, Anamirta cocculus, or Cocculus Indicus. 2. cūẕiyl (p. 201) --சூழியற்கம்பு, s. [prov. correctly குளிகை.] The supporting stakes in a wall, or the caves of a house, வீட்டிறப் புத்தாங்குகம்பு. (c.) சூழியற்படை, s. The sloping cornice of a house. சூழியற்படைதட்டிவைத்திருக்கிறான். A hard letter following this word is doubled, or the correlative nasal is inserted; as புளிக்கறி, புளிங்கறி, புளிச்சோறு, புளிஞ் சோறு. புளிகரைக்க, inf.
