The class of soft, or nasal consonants, ங், ஞ், ண், ந், ம், ன். மெல்லினவெதுகை, s. One of the இன வெதுகை, in which the second letter of each line is any of the soft consonants. மெல்லெழுத்து, s. A soft or liquid consonant. மெல்லென, inf. To be soft, gentle; used adverbially. மெல்லெனப்பாயுந் தண்ணீர்கல்லையுங்குழியப்பா யும். The water which flows gently will excavate a stone. மென்கணம், s. The soft letters, as மெல்லினம். (p.) மென்சொல், s. A soft or kind word. மென்பால், s. Fertile and cultivated ground; [ex பால், place.] மென்மை, s. Fineness, softness, thinness. See ஊறு. 2. (p.)
