சமை
camai (p. 163) கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், சமைய, v. n. [used commonly in the 3d per. neut.] To become marriageable--as a girl, பருவ மடைய. 2. To be cooked, or cooking, பாக மாக. 3. To be made, constructed, formed; ஆக. 4. To become ready, be prepared. எத்தனமாக. 5. To be exhausted, ஒழிய. W. p. 893. SAMA. (c.) சமைந்துபோக, inf. To become exhausted, spent, distributed, &c. 2. To be prepared--as food. சமைந்தபெண், s. A marriageable girl. சமைகிறபருவம், s. Time of puberty. சமையாதவள், s. [appel. neg.] A girl not arrived at puberty. சமைகடை, s. [prov.] The close, the end--as of a time, a season, an action, &c.; the exhaustion of a quantity, முடிவு. சமையல், v. noun. Cooking, cookery; that which is cooked. 2. (p.) An act, an action, செய்கை. சமையலாயிற்று. The food is ready, the provisions are cooked. சமையலாக, inf. To become cooked. சமையலாள்--சமையற்காரன், s. A cook. சமையற்புரை--சமையல்வீடு, s. Superior, greater, paramount, superlative, உயர்ந்த. 4. Intense, மிகுந்த.--Note. This particle is sometimes repeated to express intensity, as மகாமகாப் பட்ட, the greatest. (Beschi.) Also sometimes contracted to மக, and மா, as மகராசா, மாசனங்கள்; [ex மகத்து.] அதுமகாஅரிது. It is very difficult. அதுமகாஅபூர்வம். It is very rare. மகராசன், s. A king, அரசன். 2. The three mystical words, Bhur, Bhuva and Swer, the essential part with ஓம், of the Gayatri of the Brahmans, in their daily incantations, காயத்திரிமந்திரம். மகாவிந்தம், s. Final beatitude, emancipation from vitality, and absorption into the divine essence, முத்தியிற்கலப்பு. W. p. 653. MAHODAYA. 2. The rising of the sun and moon in conjunction, on a Monday, the sun being in Capricorn, in the month of January, and the moon in the twenty-second lunar asterism, in the seventh யோகம்--regarded as a most auspicious moment for sacred bathing; such is called மகோதயதீர்த்தம். [in the Malayalam country.] Period of the reign of a subordinate king under the Raya dynasty of Vijayanagaram. இவன்நாலுமாமாங்கம்கண்டவன். He is about fifty years old; (lit.) one who has seen four such festivals. மாமரங்கமானாற்பார்க்கக்கூடாது. Brothers and sisters who have not visited each other during a மாமாங்கம், should not meet without a propitiatory offering. மாமாத்திரர். See மாமருத்துநூலோர். மாமாயை, s. Foot of a bed. மாடுசாய்த்தல்--மாடுபெயர்த்தல்--மா டொதுக்குதல், v. noun. Driving cattle. மாடுமேய்க்க, inf. [appel. n. மாடுமேய்க் கிறவன்.] To feed oxen, &c. மாட்டறைதல், v. noun. [prov.] Endorsing on the back of a note, &c. மாட்டடி, s. The step, or footstep, of a cow or bull. 2. A severe blow, as though beating an ox. மாட்டாங்கோல், s.
