The name of a certain man who was praised by ஔவையார், supposed to be a shephered, ஔவையார் கேர வைபாடப்பெற்றவன். (c.) 6. (St.) An unchaste woman, வசவி. (p.) அசதிக்கோவை, s. The name of a book wherein a shepherd named அசதி is praised by ஔவையார்; it contains four hundred stanzas like all கோவை books. அசதிசன்னி, s. Apoplexy. (M. Dic.) அசதியற, (used adverbially.) To roll a ball, or wheel, trundle a hoop, &c., to wheel a barrow, to bowl, turn about, revolve a thing on a plane, to whirl, (a discus, &c.), passing through the air at right angles with the horizon, உருளச்செய்ய. 2. [prov.] To defeat a rival by arguments, sophistry, &c., to overcome in athletic exercises, games, to overmatch, வெல்ல. 3. To beat a drum rapidly, to beat a ruffle, மத்தளம்விரை வாயடிக்க. 4. [in architecture.] To form a moulding, திரட்ட. 5. To form clay or other substances into balls or globules by rolling, working in the hand, &c; குண் டுருட்ட; [ex உருள், v.] உலகுக்குநாயகனாயோராழிதனியுருட்டி. Guiding the wheel of power as the sovereign of the universe. அவனைப்புடையனுருட்டும். The beaver snake will bite, will tumble him over (and bite him). (A curse.) உருட்டித்தைக்க, inf. To roll and sew a border--a kind of hemming. உருட்டிப்பார்க்க--உருட்டிவிழிக் க, inf. To roll the eyes and look intently with signs of anger or intimidation. உருட்டிப்போட, inf. To roll a ball, &c. 2. To defeat by arguments, by a display of skill, or by sophistry, to overcome in games, &c., புரட்டிவிட, 3. To be the cause of ruin to a family, &c., அழித்துப்போட. அசத்தியமந்தக்குடியையுருட்டிபோட்டது. Perjury has ruined the family. ஆனையவனையுருட்டிப்போட்டது. The elephant rolled him over and over. உருட்டுதிரைக்கடல், s. The sea with rolling billows. குளிகையுருட்ட--மாத்திரையுருட் ட, inf. To form or make pills. (Med.) நாயுருட்ட, inf. To tumble down and bite--said of a dog. வாயாலுருட்ட, inf. To use sophistry, to dispute clamorously. கவறுருட்ட, inf. To throw dice'. உருட்டு, v. noun. Rolling, revolving on a plane, the revolution or turning of a wheel, whirling, உருட்டுகை. 2. Fraud, artifice, trick, sophistry in overcoming an antagonist, புரட்டு. 3. [in architecture.] Roundness, globosity, moulding, திரட்சி. 4. Terrifying, frightening, driving away, வெருட்டு. உருட்டும்புரட்டுஞ்சிரட்டையுங்கையும். Prevarication and lying lead to begging. [prov.] உன்னுடையவுருட்டுக்குப்பயப்படேன். I fear not your sophistry. உருட்டுப்புரட்டுள்ளவன், s. A man of tricks and frauds. உருட்டுவண்ணம், s. A poem, or song composed of syllables occurring in rapid succession. குண்டுருட்டு, s. The roundness of a bullet or ball. குண்டுருட்டாய்க்கட்ட, inf. To tie up a person head to heels. பொன்னுருட்டு, s. As பொய்த்தல். பொய்க்கோலம்--பொய்வேஷம், s. Mask, disguise, assumed appearance, கள்ளவேஷம். 2. Hypocrisy, dissimulation, கரவடம். பொய்சாதிக்க, inf. To stand to a lie. பொய்சொல்லி, appel. n. A liar. பொய்சொன்னவாய்க்குப்பொரியும்கிடையாது.... The mouth of a liar will not get even the parched rice strewed on a corpse. பொய்ச்சத்தியம்--பொய்யாணை, s. A false oath, perjury. பொய்ச்சாட்சி, s. A false witness. 2. False evidence, கள்ளச்சாட்சி. பொய்த்தலை, s. A mask or a false head on a pole, pushed by thieves through a hole in the walls of a house, to receive the blows, if any be given. பொய்பட--பொய்ப்பட, inf. [v. noun. பொய்ப்பாடு.] To fail, to become abortive, வீணாக. 2. To prove false, பொய்யாக. பொய்ப்பத்திரம், s. A forged letter, bond or other document. பொய்ப்பார், s. A shallow stratum of rock, as found in digging wells. பொய்ப்பிஞ்சு, s. [prov.] Very young fruit that does not come to perfection. பொய்மூக்கு, s. Parts near the bottom of the nose. பொய்யடி, v. noun. A light or harmless sham blow. 2. [fig.] Blinding others by publishing false stories. பொய்யன், s. A liar, a falsifier. பொய்யுறக்கம்--பொய்த்தூக்கம், s. Unsound sleep. பொய்வாழ்வு, s. Five kinds of delusion, or evil, on the principles of Adwitas or followers of Sankaracharya. They are: 1. தமம், the tamasa disposition--darkness, or obscurity of mind; 2. மாயை, ideality, inherent evil, personified matter; 3. மோகம், depravity, error; 4. அவித்தை, ignorance, folly; 5. அநிர்தம், that which is without, or strange, opposed to God. அதோமாயை--அசுத்தமாயை, s. Subordinate or inferior illusion, or Maya. அதோமாயையிலிருந்துபிரகிருதிதோன்றும். The female principle in nature springs from the inferior Maya. சுத்தமாயை--மகாமாயை, s. Primitive or original Maya, as காரணமாயை. மாயாகாரியம், s. The effects of Maya, its various changes, and diversifications in nature. மாயாசங்கற்பம், s. Any remarkable effect of Maya by way of creation or destruction. மாயாசத்தி, s. A power, energy, or principle which contains the five kinds of மாயை, given above. See மாமாயை. மாயாசாலம்--மாயாசித்து, s. Dissimulation, treachery, imposture. மாயாதருமம், s. Transient or deceptive merit, பொய்ப்புண்ணியம். 2. Nature or peculiarity of Maya, மாயையின்றன்மை. மாயாதர்மம், 2. The two peculiarities of Maya are: 1. சங்கோசம், contracting; 2. விகாசம், expanding. மாயாதாரகம், s. That which has Maya for a principal cause. மாயாதாரணை, s. Things formed by Maya, the third of nine classes. See தாரணை. மாயாதேகம், s. A transitory body, நிலை யற்றசரீரம். மாயாதேவி, s. The mother of Buddha, புத்தன்றாய். மாயாதேவிசுதன், s. The son of Maya, Buddha. (சது.) மாயாபஞ்சகம், s. As மாயை, 5. மாயாபாசம், s. Being under the influence of Maya. மாயாபுரி, s. One of the seven famous towns. See புரி. 2. Brass, பித்தளை. மாயாப்பிரதிவிம்பர், s. [hon.] He whose glories, are reflected, in creation, &c., by means of Maya, மாயையாற்பிரதிபலிக்குமுருவு டையோர். (உபநி-124.) மாயாமலம், s. As மாயைமலம். மாயாரூபம், s. Feigned shapes, forms assumed, or caused by super-human powers. மாயாலட்சணம், s. The properties of Maya. They are five; 1. அசத்து, unreality; 2. சடம், matter; 3. அநித்தம், transientness; 4. துக்கம், distress; 5. கண்டம், division, a part. மாயாலீலை, s. Sportive illusions, as of Krishna, Siva, &c. See இலீலை. மாயாவல்லபம், s. The power or efficacy of Maya. மாயாவாதம், s. A religion whose doctrines are false, skepticism, ஓர்மதம். மாயாவாதி, s. Destroyer of Maya, and its evils. (பிரபுலிங்.) 2. One of the above religion, or sect; a skeptic. மயாவித்தை, s. Magic, as மாயவித்தை. மாயாவிமோசனம், s. Removal of Maya. மாயாவினோதம், s. Legerdemain, sportive deception, கண்கட்டுவித்தை. மாயைமலம், s.
