The decalogue. தசதானம், s. Gifts to brahmans, made in the last extremity, as a passport to the other world; or by princes, and other great men, daily; by some also when a daughter is given in marriage, பத்துத்தானம். They are: 1. பசு, cow. 2. பூமி. land. 3. எள், sesamum. 4. பொன், gold. 5. நெய். ghee. 6. வஸ்திரம், cloth. 7. வெல்லம், coarse sugar, or jaggery. 8. நெல், paddy. 9. வெள்ளி, silver. 1. உப்பு. salt. தசதிக்கு--தசதிசை, s. See நாடி. தசப்பிராதுற்பவம், s. prov. more properly. தசபிராதுர்ப்பாவம்.] A poem in the ஆசிரியவிருத்தம் verse, celebrating the ten incarnations of Vishnu, உற்பவமாலை. தசப்பொருத்தம்--கலியாணப்பொருத் தம்--மணப்பொருத்தம். s. [in astrol.] Ten points in which there should be agreement in the horoscope of the bride and bridegroom. 1. நாள், in the lunar asterism or lunar day of birth. 2. கணம், in the three-fold division of the lunar asterisms, தேவர், இராட்சதர், and மனிதர், nine being ascribed to each, and a preference given where both are not in the same division. 3. மாகேந்திரம், in the rising sign, and the fourth, seventh or tenth. (See கேந்தி ரம்.) 4. திரிதீர்க்கம், in the asterism at the birth of the bridegroom which should be above that of the bride. 5. யோனி, in genital characteristics, ascribed to the lunar constellations. 6. இராசி, in the zodiacal signs, in which after the sixth of the bridegroom, his should be above the bride's. 7. அதிபதி, in the rulers of the signs which are the seven planets. 8. வசியம், in the respective zodiacal signs one with another. 9. வேதம், தாலிப்பொருத்தம் or மங்கிலியக்கயிறு, in the astrological circles, in no one of which should both be found. 1. இரச்சு, in lines drawn across the circles in any one of which, both persons should not be found. தசப்பொருத்தம்--செய்யுட்பொருத்தம், s. See செய்யுள். தசமம், s. [prop. தசமஸ்கந்தம்.] The tenth book of Bhagavata. தசமபாகம், s. The tenth part. (Colloq.) தசமி, s. The tenth phase of the moon, in the increase or decrease, பத்தாந் திதி. tuvātacam (p. 249) s. Twelve, பன்னிரண்டு; [ex தசம், ten.] W. p. 432. DVADASAM. துவாதசாங்கிசம், s. [in astrol.] A division of the rising sign into twelve parts, for horoscopic calculations. See இலக்கினம்; [ex அங்கிசம், அமிசம்.] துவாதசாதித்தர்--துவாதசாதித்தியர், s. [in mythol.] The twelve suns governing the twelve months of the year, or more properly the presiding deity of the sun for each month, beginning with சித்திரை, in the sign Aries. The twelve, ஆதித்தர், are: 1. தாத்துரு. 2. சக்கரன். 3. அரியமன். 4. மித்திரன். 5. வருணன். 6. அஞ்சு மான். 7.இரணியன். 8. பகவான். 9. திவாச்சு வான். 1. பூடன். 11. சவித்திரு. 12. துவட் டன். --Note. Each of these names is applied to the sun as he passes its sign in the Zodiac. துவாதசாந்தம், s. The place of the twelfth and last அவஸ்தை or station of the soul in the practice of the motionless ascetic, பன்னிரண்டாமவஸ்தை; [ex அந்தம், end.] துவாதசான்மா, s. The goddess of virtue, தருமதேவதை. பரமசைதன்னியம், s. Universal spirit or intelligence, the Supreme Being. பரமதூர்த்தன், s. A capital rake, மிகு துட்டன். பரமநாழிகை, s. The whole period of hours during which a திதி, வாரம், கரணம், யோகம் or நட்சத்திரம் lasts. பரமநிஷ்டை, s. Contemplation on the deity, the mind being entirely set upon பரமநிவர்த்தி, s. Final liberation from anxieties, and secularities, &c., பாச விமோசனம். பரமபதம், s. The heaven of a god, more especially of Vishnu, as bestowed on his followers. பரமபதவாசி, s. An inhabitant of the heavenly place. 2. Vishnu; also Siva. பரமபாகவதசிகாமணி--பரமபாகவதன், s. A superior class of Vaishnuvas. பரமமூர்த்தி, s. The Supreme Being. 2. Vishnu, விஷ்ணு. பரமயோக்கியம், s. An atom, the invisible base of aggregate bodies; In Wils. thirty of them are supposed to form a mote in a sunbeam, பொருண்மூலம். 2. [in modern usage.] Atmosphere, ஆகா யம்.--The atomic bases of the five elements, called பஞ்சபூதஅணு, are பிருதுவிப் பரமாணு, atomic base of earth, being water; 2. அப்புப்பரமாணு, of water, being fire; 3. தேயுப்பரமாணு, atomic base of fire, being air; 4. வாயுப்பரமாணு, of air or wind. being ether; 5. ஆகாயப்பரமாணு, of ether being maya. பரமாத்துமம்--பரமாத்துமா, s. The soul of the universe. 2. The Deity or universal soul, as contrasted with சீவாத் துமா, the human soul. பரமாத்துமன், s. God as the soul of the world, கடவுள். 2. (fig.) A saint, or glorified spirit, சுத்தாத்துமா. பரமாயு--பரமாயுஸ், s. Great age, தீர்க்காயு. 2. Full age according to one's maturity. பரமாபமம், s. The inclination of a planet's orbit to the equator; [ex அபமம்.] பரமார்த்தம், s. Any excellent or important aim, or object, மேலானபொருள். 2. A kind of spiritual knowledge which reveals the vanity and illusion of the world, மெய்ஞ்ஞானம். 3. [com. in irony.] Simplicity. பரமார்த்தகுரு--பரமார்த்தன், s.
