oḷ (p. 84) adj. Good, excellent, நல்ல. 2. Beautiful, அழகுள்ள. 3. Bright, glittering, luminous, பிரகாசமான. 4. Knowing, அறிவுள்ள. 5. Abundant, மிகுதியான. The ள் of this word is changed into ட் and ண் before appropriate letters, whence the nouns ஒட்பம், and ஒண்மை. ஒள்ளழல்கண்ணிற்கால. His eyes emitting bright sparks of fire through rage-ஒள்வாள், s. Glittering swords, ஒள்ளியவாள். ஒள்ளியர், s. The virtuous, those renowned for subjecting their passions and practising deeds of virtue, according to the shasters, மாசற்றவர். 2.
