āṭṭu (p. 38) கிறேன், ஆட்டினேன், வேன், ஆட்ட, v. a. To shake, rock, swing, wave, move, agitate, brandish, joggle, ஆடச்செ ய்ய. 2. To teach or cause to dance, நடிப் பிக்க. 3. To harass, trouble, vex, அலைக்க. 4. To bathe, anoint, நீராட்ட. 5. To spin a top, பம்பரமாட்ட. 6. To grind or triturate --as medicines, sandal wood, &c., அரைக்க; [ex ஆடு, v. ஆட்டி, s. One who causes monkeys, snakes, &c. to play, dance, &c. --as பாம்பாட்டி, a snake-dancer. ஆட்டுக்கல், s. A stone-mortar for grinding. ஆட்டு, v. noun. Dancing, கூத்து. 2.
