pāṭm (p. 307) s. Pressure, compression of a heap of tobacco, olas or skins, by a weight placed on them, அழுத்தம்; [ex பாடு, side.] 2. The artificial joining of precious stones, or chasing of gold, so as to reflect the desired colors, இரத்தினமுதலியவற்றினொளி. (c.) பாடஞ்சேர, inf. To be pressed down, or compressed by a weight. பாடம்அடுக்க--பாடம்பண்ண, inf. To pile up things, as olas or tobacco. பாடம்பாடமாயொளிவிடுகை, v. noun. Reflecting light differently, as a gem held in different positions. பாடம்போட--பாடத்திலேவைக்க, inf. To put a thing down with a weight on it to flatten it. புகையிலைபாடம்பண்ணினான்.
