amr (p. 19) --அமரு, கிறேன், அமர்ந் தேன், வேன், அமர, v. n. To be or become still, tranquil, settled, quiet, hushed, calm, serene; to become pacified, appeased, obedient, submissive, அமைய. 2. To rest, repose, enjoy repose, இளைப்பாற. 3. To settle, sink, be deposited as a sediment; to subside, become close and hard as sand by rain. அடங்க. 4. To agree, பொருந்த. 5. āṟu (p. 43) கிறேன், ஆறினேன், வேன், ஆற, v. n. To abate, relax, cool, grow cold, be refreshed, குளிர. 2. To be appeased, alleviated, mollified, தணிய. 3. To heal as a wound, hurt, &c., சொஸ்தமாக. 4. To rest, repose, இளைப்பாற. (c.) ஆறுவதுசினம். Anger should be appeased. புண்ணாறிற்று. The wound is healed. ஆறாப்பசி, s. An insatiable hunger. ஆறாப்புண், s. An incurable sore, ulcer, &c. மனதாற, inf. To be appeased when angry, be consoled. ஆறுதல், v. noun. Abating, being alleviated, consoled, mitigated, refreshed. ஆற்றிபண்ண, inf. iḷai (p. 56) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. n. To tire, grow weary, be fatigued, exhausted, to languish, தொய்ய. 2. To grow emaciated, be lean, meagre, &c., மெலிய. 3. To be worn out with age, sickness, &c., to become decrepit, தளர. 4. To become poor, be worn out--as land by continued cultivation, want of manure, &c., சக்திகுறைய. 5. To grow weak and wanting in luxuriance or fruitfulness--as trees, rice, &c., to fade--as a color, வளங்குறைய. 6. To fail before a foe or rival, to yield to superior force, தோற்க. ஒருத்தனுக்கொருத்தனிளையான். One is not inferior to the other, one will not yield to the other (they will fight till they die, except they to parted). இளைத்தோய, inf. To be exhausted from over-exertion. இளைப்பு, v. noun. Weariness, fatigue, exhaustion, faintness, மெலிவு. இளைப்பறுதி, s. Recruiting, recovery from fatigue. இளைப்பாயிருக்க, inf. To be wearied. இளைப்பாற, inf. To rest, take rest, repose, இளைப்புத்தணிய. இளைப்பாறுமண்டபம், s. A room for rest or repose--1. For idols after a procession, before they are set in the usual place. 2. For kings, or other distinguished personages after journey. to wash their feet, &c. before entering their house, வசந்தமண்டபம். இளைப்பாற்ற, inf. To refresh, cause to rest, show civilities, &c. to travellers or weary persons, இளைப்பொழிக்க. வழியிளைப்பாற்ற, inf. To entertain and refresh travellers, offering them a seat, water to wash their feet, fanning them, &c. மன்றலந்தென்றல்வீசி வழியிளைப்பாற்றினாளே. She (the Ganges) refreshed them by causing the fragrant south wind to blow. (பாரதம்.) இளைப்பாற்றி, s. Rest, resting, repose, cessation, இளைப்புத்தணிகை. இளைப்புற, inf. To be fatigued, to grow weary. 10)

To shine as the face of a person or idol, from the influence or indwelling of a deity, பிரகாசமதிகரிக்க. 2. To increase, as the phases of the moon, சந்திரகலைவளர. களைவாரி, s. A tool for weeding, களைப்பறிக்குங்கருவி. முகக்களை, s. Lustre of countenance. சூரியகளை, s. Brightness of the sun. தெய்வகளை, s. The periodical destruction of the universe, in the reduction of all things to their primitive Maya--as one of the five கிருத்தியம், உலகசங்காரம். (c.) 3. The constant dissolution of all animate existences, as one of the five கிருத்தியம் or divine operations, இளைப்பாற்றஅழித்தல். 4. To destroy, reduce things to their primitive Maya--as at the termination of the great yuga, or in the dissolution of individual creatures. சங்காரன், s. A destroyer. சர்வசங்காரநாள், s. Doomsday, the day of final and universal destruction, and judgment. சங்கரிக்க, inf. To destroy, exterminate, annihilate, அழிக்க. 2. To destroy the world, at the universal deluge, by resolving one element into another, and reducing all things to their primitive state. சங்கரிப்பு, v. noun. Destruction, annihilation, &c. நிருமூலமாக்குகை. 2. Involution of elements one into the other, and their ultimate reduction to Maya, at the termination of the world, சங்காரம். சங்காரகாலத்துப்பு, s. cavaṉikkai (p. 172) --சவனிகை, s. A screen or curtain, கட்டுதிரை. 2. [commonly சம னிகை.] A curtain or screen held before actors just ready to advance on the stage, இடுதிரை. W. p. 346. JAVANIKA. 3. The position of players behind the curtain, திரையின்பின்னிற்கை. 4. The hall in which an idol is placed to rest after procession, இளைப்பாறுமண்டபம். (c.) சவனிக்கைத்தரு--சவனிக்கைப்பாட்டு, s.
