The figure of a letter marked in sand for a child to trace over, அட்சரக்குழி. நிலக்குறி, s. Sigus said to appear in the ground when certain juices are poured on it, shewing whether treasure has been buried and of what kind--a branch of நீதிசாத்திரம். நிலக்கூந்தல், s. A spot made on the forehead of children by rubbing the finger on the smeared floor and touching it, மண்ணைத்தேய்த்திடுந்திலதம். 2. A kind of medicinal fungus, ஓர்காளான். நிலப்போங்கு, s. Quality of soil, good or bad, as affecting plants. நிலமகள், s. The earth as a goddess, பூமாதேவி. நிலமகன், s. The planet Mars, செவ் வாய், symbolically described as a son of பூமிதேவி. நிலமட்டம், s. Ground or water level. See நீர்மட்டம். நிலமண், s. [prov.] Earth laid down to form the floor of a house, தரையைநிரப் புமண். நிலமதிப்பு, v. noun. Estimation of land as to its value, produce, &c. நிலமயக்கம், s. Blending of different tracts of country, as the hilly, forest, &c. See திணைமயக்கம். (p.) நிலமறிதல், v. noun. Knowing the different soils for wells, &c., பூமியின்வள மறிதல். 2. Knowing the lucky side or place, in gambling. வெல்லுநிலமறிந்தவன். One knowing the point at which to place himself in order to win. நிலமிதி, s. [prov.] Peculiarity of place, climate, &c., as affecting health or disposition, இடவுரிமை. நிலமெடுத்தல், v. noun.
