A brahman who attends on an idol, அர்ச்சகப்பிராமணன். W. p. 423. DEVALAKA. தேவலோகம், s. World of the gods, Swerga, the third of the secven upper worlds, of which Indra is king, the lowest heaven of mortals, who assume the form of gods for a residence in it. The enjoyments are all sensual, and the period of their continuance depends on the merit of the persons while on earth. When this is exhausted, they return for another period of probation; or go to a place of suffering for the expiration of previous demerit. This is the only heaven presented to the hope of the multitude, and generally the highest bliss they anticipate, சுவர் க்கம். தேவவசனம்--தேவவாக்கு, s. To fix the blue i. e. to fabricate a story; said to be necessary for a washerman that the cloths may take the color. நீலம்பாரிக்க, inf. To become bluish as the face, eyes of teeth by poisonous bites; a part hurt by a blow; or an infant by disease, &c., சரீரம்நீலநிறமாக. 2.
