koẕuntu (p. 146) s. Tender twigs, leaves, shoots, sprouts, இளந்தளிர். 2. Flame, சுவாலை. 3. [prov.] The betel-plant, வெற்றிலைக்கொடி. 4. Cuttings or slips planted or growth, நடுகொழுந்து. 5. A tender, cartilaginous part of the body, மெல்லியது--as in மூக்காங் கொழுந்து, நெஞ்சாங்கொழுந்து, &c. கொழுந்திலை, s. A tender leaf. கொழுந்துக்கால், s. Sticks, stakes, &c., set to support betel-runners, கொடிக்கால். கொழுந்துகிள்ள, inf. To nip or cut off the shoots of plants, when too rank, to make them productive; also, to in jure or destroy them. 2. (p.) To destroy the young heir of a family. கொழுந்துநட, inf. To plant betel, and other cuttings. கொழுந்துபதிக்க, inf.
