The union of a person with another as bad as himself is like eating wood apple with unclean teeth. ஊத்தைபோகக்குளித்தவனுமில்லைப்பசிபோகத்தின் றவனுமில்லை. None washes himself so as not to require it again, nor does any one eat so as not to hunger again. ஊத்தைகுடியன், s. A kind of goblin, ஓர்பிசாசு. ஊத்தைச்சீலை, s. Menstruous cloth, சூதகச்சீலை. 2. Dirty cloth, or clothes, அழுக்குச்சீலை. ஊத்தைதாங்க, inf. To bear dirt, &c.--as cloth without showing it. ஊத்தைதேய்க்க--ஊத்தைபுரட்ட, inf. To rub the body in bathing. ஊத்தைநாறி, s. A dirty slut, துர்க்கந்தமுடையவள். [vul.] 2. A tree, பீ நாறி. ஊத்தைபுரள, inf. To be dirtied-as clothes, &c. ஊத்தைப்பல்லன், s. A man with dirty teeth. ஊத்தைப்பாண்டம், s. Moral evil, தீமை. ஊனமிலாவுறுப்பு. A form without defect, (அறநெறித்.) ஊனமிலான்மானமிலான். (Dharma) who is alike unconscious of disgrace and of honor. -- (பார.) ஊனவெம்பவம். Vile, horrid transmigration. (சத. 64.) காலூனப்பட்டவன். One who has lost a leg, or who is defective in his legs. கையூனம், s. Privation of a hand. ஊனக்கண், s. ūṉṟu (p. 72) கிறேன், ஊன்றினேன், வே ன், ஊன்ற, v. a. To plant, set, fix, place firmly, rest upon with pressure--as a pole in propelling, fixing a boat, a musket, a lever, &c., நிறுத்த. 2. To lay down premises in an argument, நியாயத்திற்குமூலத்தைஸ்தாபிக்க. 3. To grasp, hold, strike root as trees, gain a firm footing, become established in a place, இறுகப்பிடிக்க. 4. v. n. To lean upon, recline, or depend on a staff, a person, &c., சார. 5. To be steadfast, firm, intent upon, உறுதியாய்நிற்க. ஊன்றக்கொடுத்ததடியென்னுச்சியையுடைக்கிறது. The staff which I gave him to lean upon, breaks my head; i. e. the good I have done him has turned out evil. கையூன்றிக்கரணம்போடவேண்டும். To tumble, the hands must be fixed on the ground; i. e. nothing can be done without money, means, &c. மழையூன்றிப்பேய்கிறது. It rains hard or incessantly. மேகங்காலூன்றிமழைபெய்தது. The clouds resting on the horizon poured down torrents. நிலத்திற்சிக்கெனவூன்றியவேர். Roots stuck firmly in the ground. ஒத்தகடப்பாட்டிற்றாளுன்றியெய்து. Exerting themselves in their proper calling. ஊன்றக்கட்ட, inf. To edify, ratify. ஊன்றிக்கேட்க, inf. To interrogate with much emphasis, press for an answer, உறுதியாய்வினாவ. 2. To hear attentively, கருத்தாய்ச்செவிகொடுக்க. ஊன்றிக்கொள்ள inf. To gain a firm footing in a place, office, &c.; to establish one's self, நிலைபெற. 2. To lean or depend upon, சார்ந்திருக்க. ஊன்றிச்சொல்ல, inf. To speak, or pronounce with distinct articulation, உறுதியாய்ச்சொல்ல. ஊன்றித்தாங்க, inf. To press on a pole in stopping, or poling a boat, ஊன்றித்தள்ள. ஊன்றிநடக்க, inf. To walk cautiously, firmly, &c.--as on slippery ground. 2. To walk firmly as one regaining the use of his limbs. 3. To walk with a firm foot so as to secure a quick pace. கோலையூன்றிக்கொண்டுநடக்கிறான். He walks with the assistance of a staff. ஊன்றிப்படிக்க, inf. To read poetry with proper pauses. 2. To sing with proper articulation, emphasis, &c. ஊன்றிப்பார்க்க, inf. To look steadfastly, intently, &c., நோக்கிப்பார்க்க. 2. To consider a thing maturely, to fix the mind intently on the object of consideration, ஆராய்ந்துபார்க்க. 3. To feel, try--as a fruit, &c., pressing it with the hand, கையினாலழுத்திப்பார்க்க. ஊன்றிப்பிடிக்க, inf. To seize firmly, hold tight, இறுகப்பிடிக்க. 2. To mark faults severely, கூர்மையாய்க்குற்றம் பிடிக்க. 3. To hold fast an opinion, பிடி வாதமாயிருக்க. ஊன்றிப்பேச, inf. To speak emphatically or forcibly, உறுதியாய்ப்பேச. இந்தநியாயத்திலூன்றிப்பேசு. Urge this argument, insist upon it. ஊன்றிப்போட, inf. To confirm an opinion, accusation, evidence, &c., ஸ்திரப்படுத்திவிட. ஊன்றிமிதிக்க, inf. To tread cautiously--as one on a well-beam, step firmly, steadily, &c. ஊன்றியெழுத, inf. To press or indent well in writing. ஊன்றிவைக்க, inf. To establish a family. 2. To settle one in life, business, &c. 3. to confirm, settle one in an opinion in a slight degree. ஊன்றுகால், s. A stay, a prop, உதைகால். ஊன்றுகோல், s. A staff, a walking stick, a support, பற்றுக்கோடு. எழுத்தையூன்ற, inf. To put a point over a letter which makes it mute. நாற்றையூன்ற, inf. To set plants.

The birth preceding the present, முற்பிறப்பு. (p.) கழியுடல், s. A skeleton, ஊன்க ழிந்தவுடல். (p.) வாழ்நாட்கழிய, inf. To pass, as one's lifetime. ஏழரைகழிய, inf. Remainder in arithmetic, சேஷம். 8. [in logic.] Inference by implication of opposite, as when it is said of two persons, that one is enlightened by virtuous deeds, we infer that the other is darkened by the retributions of vice; or in a case of robbery between two-that one is honest, that the other is the thief, பாரிசேஷம். 9. That which is secondary, inferior, any thing bad or inferior in quality, base, vile, இழிவு. கழிவில்லை. There is none rejected. 2. There is no abatement, deduction, discount, &c. கழிவானசரக்கு, s. Rejected goods. கழிவுநிலம், s. Waste land--as stony or brackish among good land. பத்திலொன்றுகழிவு, s. A deduction or premium of one in ten. 69)

kiṭai (p. 109) க்கிறது, த்தது, க்கும், க்க, v. n. To be obtained, to come to one, to be realized, found; to come into one's possession, to turn to account, அடைய. With the agent in the dative, and the object in the nominative--as எனக்கொருபுஸ்்தகங்கிடைத்தது; lit. a book has come to me; i.e. I have obtained a book. 2. To encounter, to be confronted with--as warriors; to oppose, எதிர்க்க. In the first sense, the verb is commonly used in the neuter gender. எனக்குப்பாக்கியங்கிடைத்தது. I have become rich or happy. I have had prosperity. வழுக்கிவிழுகையில் ஊன்றுகோல்போல் நீ கிடைத் தாயே. You have offered yourself to me as a prop--as a walking-stick to one who slips and is ready to fall. 18)

He is displeased with me; he has a complaint against me. இனியெனக்கென்னகுறை. What can I need more? 2. What defect is there in me now? குறைகொள்ள--குறையாயெண்ண, inf. To take a thing amiss, to feel aggrieved, to be piqued, to complain. குறைகோள், v. noun. Solicitation, petition, mendicity, இரத்தல். குறைசொல்ல, inf. To complain, to state grievances, to utter complaints, to express dissatisfaction. 2. To reveal one's wants, குறைகூற. 3. To change with fault; to censure, criticise; to blame. குறைதீர, inf. To be supplied--as wants. 2. To be satisfied. குறைதீர்க்க--குறையாற்ற--குறைநீக்க, inf. To supply wants, to satisfy; to relieve necessities. 2. To pacify, appease. 3. To fulfil an obligation. குறைமுடிக்க, inf. To grant requests. 2. To supply wants. 3. To take revenge. குறையற, inf. To be supplied--as wants, &c. See குறைதீர. குறையிரக்க, inf.
