emaṉ (p. 73) s. The deity of Naraca or hell, where his capital is placed, in which he sits in judgment on the dead, and distributes rewards and punishments, sending the good to Swerga, and the wicked to the division of Naraca or Tartarus appropriated to their crimes: he corresponds with the Grecian god Pluto, and the judge of hell Minos. and in Hindu mythology is often identified with death and time; he is the son of Surya, or the sun, and brother of the personified Yamuna or Jumna river, நமன். Wils. p. 681. YAMA. (இயமன் and யமன்.) 2. The third fang of the cobra, நரகபாம்பின்பற்களிலொன்று. (p.) எமகணம்--எமகிங்கிரர்--எமதூதர், s. The messengers of Yama employed to execute his behests, apprehending souls and conveying them to Tartarus, நமன் றூதர். எமதூதன், s. The fourth fang of the cobra, நரகபாம்பின்பற்றிகளிலொன்று. எமலோகம், s. The place of the deceased; the purgatory of the Hindus; the kingdom of எமன். எமாஸ்திரம், s. His weapons of which there are three kinds, viz:. 1. கணிச்சி, a trident. 2. தண்டு, a club. 3. பாசம், a rope. 70)

The messenger who carries the news of a poisonous bite to the magician; by whose postures, gestures, words, &c., the fate of the bitten person is ascertained. 6. (Chirst, usage, with தேவ.) An angel. எமதூதன், s. A messenger of Yaman, the god of death, to carry away souls to his court. See எமன், இயமன். தூதனிலட்சணம், s. Posture, gestures. &c., of the messenger, with news of a snake bite. தூதன்சொல்லிலட்சணம், s. Words of the above messenger, of which the letters are counted to ascertain the patient's fate. தூதாள், s. (pl. தூதாட்கள்.) A messenger, a spy, as தூதன். தூதிற்பிரிவு, v. noun. (in love poetry.) Separation of husband from his wife to go on a message for the king. தூதுசொல்ல, inf. To deliver a message or errand. தூதுநடக்க--தூதுபோக, inf. To go on an errand, to act as a messenger. 25)

Stilt, போலிக்கால். (See கால்.) 2. A wooden leg, மரக்கால். பொய்க்குரல்--பொய்ச்சத்தம், s. A feigned or counterfeit voice. பொய்க்குழி, s. A pit-fall, படுகுழி. பொய்க்கை, s. A false arm. 2. As பொய்த்தல். பொய்க்கோலம்--பொய்வேஷம், s. Mask, disguise, assumed appearance, கள்ளவேஷம். 2. Hypocrisy, dissimulation, கரவடம். பொய்சாதிக்க, inf. To stand to a lie. பொய்சொல்லி, appel. n. A liar. பொய்சொன்னவாய்க்குப்பொரியும்கிடையாது.... The mouth of a liar will not get even the parched rice strewed on a corpse. பொய்ச்சத்தியம்--பொய்யாணை, s. A false oath, perjury. பொய்ச்சாட்சி, s. A false witness. 2. False evidence, கள்ளச்சாட்சி. பொய்த்தலை, s. A mask or a false head on a pole, pushed by thieves through a hole in the walls of a house, to receive the blows, if any be given. பொய்பட--பொய்ப்பட, inf. [v. noun. பொய்ப்பாடு.] To fail, to become abortive, வீணாக. 2. To prove false, பொய்யாக. பொய்ப்பத்திரம், s. A forged letter, bond or other document. பொய்ப்பார், s. A shallow stratum of rock, as found in digging wells. பொய்ப்பிஞ்சு, s. [prov.] Very young fruit that does not come to perfection. பொய்மூக்கு, s. Parts near the bottom of the nose. பொய்யடி, v. noun.
