mṉ (p. 347) . [an affix particle.] 1. An expletive, ஓரசைச்சொல், அதுமற்கொண்கன்றேரே, that is the chief's chariot. 2. Modification, ஆக்கம், காடுமன்பண்டு, [இப்போதுநாடாயிருக்கிறது.] it was formerly a wilderness [now cultivated]. 3. Indicating words omitted necessary for a full sense, ஒழியிசை, கூரியதோர்வாண்மன், it is a sharp sword [it has cut down many]. 4. What is gone, கழிவு, as சிறிய கட்பெறினே யெமக்கீயுமன்னே, had he obtained an ele phant he would have given it to us-[but he is dead]. 5. Greatness, பெருமை, abundance, மிகுதி, as எந்தையெமக்கருளுமன், my father will give us abundantly. (சது.) 6. Durableness, நிலைபேறு, மன்னாஉலகத்துமன்னியது மொழிமோ, say, what is enduring on this unsubstantial earth. 7. A medial particle, இடைநிலை, என்மனார், they will say so. 8. A personal affix, பெயர்விகுதி, வடமன், a northern tribe. 9. s. A king, அரசன். 9)
