yāṉai (p. 370) s. An elephant. 2. The sign of Kuvêra, as regent of the north. 3. The Pepul tree. See ஆனை. யானைகட்டக்கயிறுதானேஎடுத்துக்கொடுக்கும். The elephant gives the rope to tie itself; said of those who bring trouble on their own heads. Prov. யானைக்கச்சை, s. An elephant's rope. or the string around his neck; also his girth. யானைச்சார்வு, s. A place of rest for elephants, a stall for them, யானைதுயிலிடம். (சது.) யானைத்தடிப்பு--யானைப்பிச்சான், s. A plant, Cissus acida. யானைப்படுகுழி, s. A pit-fall for catching elephants. யானைப்பெருங்காயம், s. See பெருங்கா யம். யானைமாவுத்தன், s. An elephant-driver, as மாவுத்தன். யானைமீன், s. A very large fish so called. (R.) யானைமீனைவிழுங்குமீன், s. A fish which swallows the யானைமீன். யானைமுகவற்கிளையோன், s. An epithet of Vîrabhadra, வீரபத்திரன். (சது.) யானையீருரி, s. See இர், v. a. யானையுரித்தோன், appel. n. An epithet of Siva, as having skinned an elephant (சது.) யானைவிச்சுளி, s. A kind of eagle, the ospray, ஓர்கழுகு. (R.) யானைவீரிடல், v. noun.
