kattari (p. 92) s. A pair of scissors, shears, snuffers, &c., கத்தரிக்கோல். Wils. p. 196. KARTARI. 2. The brinjal, egg-plant, வழு துணை, Solanum melongena. 3. A species of snake, ஓர்பாம்பு. 4. The hot period from the twenty-third of சித்திரை, to the seventh of வைகாசி, அக்கினிநட்சத்திரம். This they call முன் னேழுபின்னேழுகத்தரி. There are some particular ceremonies performed at this season, during which the brahmans are allowed to indulge themselves in potions of sherbet. கத்தரிக்காய், s. Brinjal fruit, வழு துணங்காய். கத்தரிக்காயிலேகாலுங்கையும்முளைத்தாற்போலே. As the feet and hands sprang up in a brinjal; i. e. dwarfish. கத்தரிப்புழு, s. A small worm or insect in brinjals, ஓர்புழு. முட்டைக்கத்தரி, s. One of the species. கொத்துக்கத்தரி--நித்தக்கத்தரி, s. a plant, Solanum stramonifolium. நீலக்கத்தரி, s. krppṉ (p. 96) --கரப்பான், s. Humors causing eruptions, scurf, scall, eruption, blain, any cutaneous or herpetic disease, a rash, erysipelas, tetter, ஓர்கிரந்திப்புண் (c.) கரப்பன்பண்டம், s. Eatables that promote eruptions. கரப்பன்மொய்த்தல், v. noun. Being full, as part of the body with hu mors and itching. கரப்பான்பூச்சி, s. A cockroach, Blatta orientails. கரப்பான்பூடு, s. A plant, Lepidagathis cristata. கண்டக்கரப்பான், s. Eruptions on the neck. மண்டைக்கரப்பான்--கபாலக்கரப் பான், s. A kind of itch that appears on the head of skull. உமிக்கரப்பான், s. A disease of children, a kind of scurf over the whole body. கத்தரிக்காய்க்கரப்பான், s. A kind of eruption supposed to be produced by eating brinjals. கொள்ளிக்கரப்பான், s. A kind of blain extending over the body in children generally between two and four years old. அக்கி--அக்கினிக்கரப்பான், s. The erysipelas. செங்கரப்பான், s. A kind of reddish scurf in children. கருங்கரப்பான், s. A dark kind of eruption. ஊதுகரப்பான், s. A disease of children, a kind of scall, Achy or crustalactea. கடுவான்கரப்பான், s. A cutaneous disease, in the legs of infants, of rare occurrence. 80)

kāṟu (p. 106) கிறேன், காறினேன், வேன், காற, v. a. To hawk, to hawk up phlegm, &c., காறி யுமிழ. 2. v. n. To taste bitter, musty, or rancid--as stale food, காறலாயுருசிக்க. கத்தரிக்காய் காறுகின்றது. The cooked brinjal tastes bitter. காறித்துப்ப--காறிப்போட--காறியுமிழ, inf. To hawk and spit. எல்லாரும் உன்முகத்திற் காறித்துப்புவார்கள்.... Every body will hawk and spit on your face; i.e. if you act thus, every one will treat you with contumely. காறல், s. A bitter, musty flavor, producing often a tendency to hawk and spit; the bitter taste of stale food; rancidity, காறுகிறருசி. 2. An eatable that tastes bitter and musty, காறலான பதார்த் தம். 3. v. noun. Hawking; retching, காறுதல். காறலாயிருக்க, inf. [local.] To feel an itching in the throat. 39)

muṟṟu (p. 359) கிறேன், முற்றினேன், வேன், முற்ற, v. n. To become mature, to ripen, முதிர. 2. To become hard, solid, வயிரங்கொள்ள. [improp. முத்து.] (c.) 3. To be finished, completed, முடிய. 4. v. a. To complete, to finish, முடிக்க. 5. To blockade, to shut up a port, வளைக்க. (p.) காய்முற்றிப்போயிற்று. The fruit is ripe. காரியமுற்றிப்போயிற்று. The matter has become aggravated. வியாதிமுற்றிப்போனது. The disease is incurable. முற்ற, inf. [as adv. vul. முட்ட.] Entirely, fully, முடிய. முற்றநனைந்தவனுக்கீரமில்லை. There is no wetting him who is well drenched. வழிமுற்றஎன்கூடவந்தான். The letter ஃ with its full sound--as distinct from ஆய்தக்கு றுக்கம். முற்றியலுகரம்--முற்றுகரம், s. The letter உ in its full quantity, unabbreviated உ--as distinct from குற்றுகரம், as கடு poison, கதவு, door, and not as in மதகு, sluice, உதடு, lip, &c. முற்றியைபு, s. Rhyming in the last letter in all the feet. See தொடை. முற்றிழை, s. A lady completely adorned. முற்றிழாய். O thou who hast adorned thyself with perfect jewels. (p.) முற்றுகை, v. noun. [com. முற்றிக்கை.] Straitness, distress, want, [vul. முட்டு கை.] 2. [vul. முத்திக்கை.] Blockade, seige. சாப்பாட்டுக்கெனக்குமெத்தமுற்றிக்கையாயிருக்கி றது. I am in-great distress for want of food. பட்டணத்தைமுற்றிக்கைபோட்டார்கள். They beseiged the town. முற்றும், A finite verb, வினைமுற்று, as முடியும். 2.
