இறங்கு
iṟngku (p. 57) கிறேன், இறங்கினேன், வேன், இறங்க, v. n. To descend, pass down a declivity or ladder, sink lower; to get down a tree, a precipice, &c.; to step down, alight from a horse, &c.; to crawl down, சரிய. 2. To descend voluntarily--as a bird, தாழலிறங்க. 3. To descend by degrees through air, water, or any other resisting medium--as leaves or other light substances; to fall or sink gradually or slowly; to fall--as rain; to flow down--as a torrent; to fall--as grain from the ear, மழைமுதலிய வையிறங்க. 4. To disembark, get out of a boat, or from one boat into another of smaller size, கப்பலினின்றிறங்க. 5. To be taken down, unladed, unladen, disburdened, சாமானிறங்க. 6. To fall or sink into the appropriate place--as a post into its hole, to be driven home--as a nail, உள்ளிறங்க. 7. To sink--as a denser body, to settle to the bottom--as earth in water, water in oil, &c., அமிழ. 8. To arrive at a place other than one's home, to pitch, alight, encamp --as an army. to halt, பாளயமிறங்க. 9. To get into the right road, நேர்வழியிலிறங்க. 1. To be brought down or reduced, தாழ்வடைய. 11. To abate--as fever commencing with the head and descending to the extremities, சுரமிறங்க. 12. To become reduced, or to descend--as bile in the system (which rising to the brain is supposed to cause mental derangement); hence to be cured of mental aberration, பித்தமிறங்க. 13. To subside--as animal poison in the system (which is supposed to descend from the head to the extremities), விடமிறங்க. கபாலநீர்கண்ணிலேயிறங்குகிறது. The humors of the head have descended into the eyes, causing cataract, depriving the person of sight, &c. ஒருதுறையிலிறங்கிவிட்டான். He has found a resting place; his mind is settled. இறங்காத்துறை, s. A place not convenient or proper for landing, or lodging. 2. (fig.) An improper marriage, connection, &c. இறங்குதுறை, s. A place of debarkation. 2. (fig.) Means, ways for effecting a thing, வழிவகை. இறங்குபொழுது, s. The time of sunset, சாய்பொழுது. இறங்குபொழுதிலேமருந்துகுடி. Take medicine when the sun declines; implying that the disease will thereby decline. இறங்குமிராசி, s. The six signs through which the sun passes in its southern course, சூரியனிறங்குமாறிராசிகள். இறக்கம், v. noun. Descending-as of food into the stomach; descent of a bird, a stream; debarkation from a boat, going down a ladder, &c., இறங்கு கை. 2. A descent, declivity, slope, declination, சரிவு. 3. A ford, இறங்குதுறை. 4. The drying up of the pustules in the small pox, measles and other similar diseases--so applied because it is supposed to begin at the head and to descend, அம்மைமுதலியவிறக்கம். 5. Paths and tracks of beasts in a jungle, மிருகங்கள் செல்வழி. நோயாளிக்குச்சோற்றிறக்கமில்லை. The patient is unable to swallow his food. இறக்கத்திலிருக்க, inf. To be in a low place, to be below. அவன்காரியம்இறக்கத்திலிருக்கிறது. His business is on the decline. இறங்கல், v. noun. The swelling of the glandula by an excess of wind, &c., அண்டமிறங்கல். 2. The subsiding of swelling, &c. from the head to the extremities, விக்கமிறங்கல். இறவு, v. noun. Lapse, passage, a place of descent, செல்கை. 5)

uruttirṉ (p. 65) s. The god Siva who disperses the tears of mortals and demigods, சிவன்; [ex ருத், to weep.] Wils. p. 77. RUDRA. உருத்திரகணிகை, s. A courtezan of Siva, a dancing girl of one of his temples. உருத்திரசடை, s. A plant, சிவது ளசி, Ocimum basilicum. உருத்திரர், s. A class of demigods, inferior manifestations of Siva being eleven in number, viz.: மாதேவன், அரன், உருத்திரன், சங்கரன், நீலலோகிதன், ஈசானன், விசயன், வீமதேவன், பவோற்பவன், கபாலி, சௌ மியன். Wils. p. 77. RUDRA. உருத்திரவீணை, s. A species of guitar, ஓர்வகையாழ். உருத்திராக்கம்--உருத்திராட்சம், s. The nuts of the El&oe;ocarpus ganitrus, worn as beads by religious mendicants of the Siva sect, உருத்திராட்சமணி; [ex அட்சம், eye.] Wils. p. 78. RUDRAKSHA. உருத்திராட்சதாழ்வடம், s. A large garland or necklace of the sacred beads or the nuts of the El&oe;ocarpus. உருத்திராட்சமணி, s. A bead as worn by mendicants' widows. உருத்திராட்சமுகம், s. The figures or lines on religious beads. உருத்திராணி--உருத்திரை, s. Parvati, பார்ப்பதி. Wils. p. 78. RUDRAN'EE. உருத்திராபிஷேகம், s. ulōkam (p. 66) s. The world, the earth, any of the fabulous worlds of Hindu mythology, உலகம். 2. Worldliness, earthliness, secularity, உலகத்துக்கடுத்ததன்மை. Wils. p. 723. LOKA. 3. Metal--as iron, &c. Five simple metals are given in the native lexicons--gold, silver, copper, iron, and lead or tin, பஞ்சலோகம். Wils. p. 725. LOHA. To these are sometimes added two mixed metals--as வெண்கலம், a mixture of copper and tin, making bell-metal, &c., and தரா, a compound of copper and zinc, or pinchbeck, &c. உலோகக்கட்டி, s. Difference, or variety of worlds--one of the six kinds of பேதம்; which see. உலோகமணல், s. Iron-sand. உலோகமலை, s. A mountain of iron or metals. உலோகரட்சகன், s. A preserver or protector of the world, உலகத்தைக்காப்ப வன். 2. An appellative of Vishnu--as preserver, விட்டுணு. உலோகராட்டு, s. The Sovereign of the world; i. e. God, கடவுள். உலோகரூடம், s. krppṉ (p. 96) --கரப்பான், s. Humors causing eruptions, scurf, scall, eruption, blain, any cutaneous or herpetic disease, a rash, erysipelas, tetter, ஓர்கிரந்திப்புண் (c.) கரப்பன்பண்டம், s. Eatables that promote eruptions. கரப்பன்மொய்த்தல், v. noun. Being full, as part of the body with hu mors and itching. கரப்பான்பூச்சி, s. A cockroach, Blatta orientails. கரப்பான்பூடு, s. A plant, Lepidagathis cristata. கண்டக்கரப்பான், s. Eruptions on the neck. மண்டைக்கரப்பான்--கபாலக்கரப் பான், s. A kind of itch that appears on the head of skull. உமிக்கரப்பான், s. A disease of children, a kind of scurf over the whole body. கத்தரிக்காய்க்கரப்பான், s. A kind of eruption supposed to be produced by eating brinjals. கொள்ளிக்கரப்பான், s. A kind of blain extending over the body in children generally between two and four years old. அக்கி--அக்கினிக்கரப்பான், s. The erysipelas. செங்கரப்பான், s. A kind of reddish scurf in children. கருங்கரப்பான், s. A dark kind of eruption. ஊதுகரப்பான், s. A disease of children, a kind of scall, Achy or crustalactea. கடுவான்கரப்பான், s. சமயம்
camayam (p. 162) s. A convenient, suitable or proper time; leisure, convenience, opportunity, தருணம். 2. Time, season, occasion, juncture of time; emergency, extremity, காலம். 3. Any religious persuasion, faith or system, மார்க்கம். (c.) W. p. 894. SAMAYA. --Note.. There are twelve principal religious systems, of which six are approved and six rejected by the Saiva sect. 1. உட் சமையம், or the six systems considered orthodox by the Saivas are. 1. வைரவம், making Bhairava supreme. 2. வாமம், regarding the female principle in nature, as the primeval form of deity, and teaching the worship of the generative female organ. 3. காளாமுகம், similar to the வாமம். 4. மாவிரதம், teaching that the deity is a pure spirit. 5. பாசுபதம், similar to மாவிரதம். 6. சைவம், Saivism, which teaches that the deity is both spirit and matter; assuming forms for accomplishing his purposes. II. புறச்சமயம், or the six heterodox systems; viz.:-- 1. உலகாயதம். A species of Atheism regarding sensual gratifications as the chief good, as taught by the atheistical school of Charvaka. 2. புத் தம். Bhuddism, which rejects the notion of a Supreme being, maintains that all material existences proceed from a fortuitous combination of the four primitive elements, (earth, water, fire, and air,) and that mental phenomena are the mere results of organization. It regards Bhudd as a deified teacher and object of worship. 3. சமணம். The Jaina system which is a modification of Bhuddism, and regards Argha as the deified preceptor and object of worship. 4. மீமாஞ்சை. A system that regards Brahm as the soul of the universe. 5. பாஞ்சாரத்திரம். A system taught by Vishnu, during five successive nights. 6. பாட்டாசாரியம். The system of Battacharya whose followers regard the Vedas as god, and consider that virtuous actions of themselves result in felicity. III. Other systems derived from these twelve or in some respects similar to them are very numerous, some of them are கபாலம், சவுத்திராந்திகம், யோகசாரணம், ஆத்துமிகம், வைபாடிகம், நிகண்டவா தம், நையாயிகம், வைசேஷிகம், பதஞ்சலியம், சாங்கியம், சித்தாந்தம், வேதாந்தம், &c. The six orthodox systems among the Vaishnuvas are 1. யாதவம், that of Yádava Misra. 2. மாயாவாதம், that by Sankarachárya. 3. இரணியகர்ப்பம், that by Hiranyagarbha. 4. இராமானுசீயம், that by Rámánuja. 5. பாஸ்கரம், that by Bhaskara. 6. தத்துவவாதம், that by Mádhavácharya. சமயகருமம், s. Rites and duties of religion, மார்க்காசாரம். சமயகாரியம், s. Questions, matters, &c., of theology; religious concerns, subjects, &c. சமயக்கட்டு, s. Religious obligation. See கட்டு. சமயக்கொள்கை--சமயக்கோட்பாடு, s. Religious opinions, tenets, &c. சமயசாத்திரம், s. The theology of a sect. 2. Religious writings or shastras. சமயதீட்சை, s. The ceremony of initiating a disciple in the mantras, &c., peculiar to the sect. See தீட்சை. சமயத்தார், s. The followers of a religious system. சமயங்கடக்க, inf. To transcend all religions--as the supreme being. (p.) சமயநிந்தை, s. Scoffing at religion, profaneness, blasphemy, &c. சமயநிலை, s. The commands, tenets of a religion. 2. Religion as observed, believed, practised, &c., by its professors. சமயநூல், s. The religious writings of a sect. சமயப்பற்று, v. noun. Attachment to a religion. சமயபத்தி, s. Religious devotedness to a creed. சமயபேதம், s. Heresy, heterodoxy. 2. Diversity of religions. 3. Schism. 4. (c.) Unseasonableness. சமயபேதி, s. A heretic. 2. Schismatic. 3. One of another religion. சமயப்போலி, s. A spurious system of religion. (p.) சமயப்போக்கு, v. noun. The substance, scope, &c., of a religion. (Little used.) சமயமதம், s. Bigotry, enthusiasm, conceit in religion. சமயமதங்கொண்டாட, inf. To be enthusiastic, to act the bigot. சமயமானம், s. A natural regard to one's own religion. (c.) 2. (Rott.) Constancy or firmness in a religion. சந்நியாசிக்குஞ் சாதிமானஞ் சமயமானம்விடாது.... The ascetic who has relinquished every thing will not relinquish his caste or sect. சமயவாதம், s. Religious controversy. சமயவாதி, s. A disputant for religion. 2. A professor of religion. சமயாசாரம், s. The rites and ceremonies, of a religion according to a prescribed institute. 2. Religious practice, observance of rites. (c.) சமயாதீதன், s. The supreme Being-as transcending all religions, சமயங்கடந்த கடவுள். (p.) சமயி, s. [com. சமயத்தான்.] A religionist, a sectarian, the follower of any religion, sect, &c., a sectary. (p.) சமயமாயிருக்கையில், [adverbially.] At a particular juncture, in an emergency. சமயங்கடத்த, inf. [prov.] To while away time, to loiter. சமயங்கிடைக்க, inf. To obtain an opportunity. (c.) சமயங்கெட்டவேளை, s. An unseasonable time. (Limited usage.) சமயத்துக்குதவ, inf. To help in an emergency. சமயம்பார்க்க--சமயந்தேட, inf. To watch an opportunity. சமயாசமயம், s. Urgent or pressing occasion, unfavorable opportunity. (c.) தற்சமயம், s. The very juncture or moment. 2. A special opportunity. நற்சமயம், s. A good opportunity. சமயந்தப்பிவந்தான். He came unseasonably. சமயத்திலே கையைவிரித்தான். He refrained from helping in time of need. 2) *

cuẕi (p. 198) க்கிறது, த்தது, க்கும், க்க, v. n. To be formed as curls, curvatures, &c., on the head or body, அங்கஞ்சுழிக்க. 2. To sink, fall in, as the eyes by age, &c., கண்சுழிக்க. 3. To fall here and there--as rain in partial showers, மழைசுழிக்க. (c.) 4. [prov.] To go, move about, to walk here and there, அலைய. மழைசுழித்துவிட்டுப்போயிற்று. The rain was very scanty. கபாலக்குத்துகண்ணைச்சுழித்தது. A severe headache has sunk the eyes. சுழித்தமுகம், s. A sunk face. Compare சுரித்தமூஞ்சி. சுழித்துவலிக்க, inf. To have stitches or spasms connected with breathing. சுழித்துவாங்க, inf. To have pain in breathing. 2. To draw in--as a whirlpool or eddy, to ingulph. சுழிகாற்று--சுழிக்காற்று, s. Whirl-wind. See under காற்று. சுழிமாந்தம், s. Distortion of the bowels in children, connected with indigestion. See மாந்தம். சுழிமின்னல், s. Forked lightning. (Rare.) சுழித்தது, appel. n. Any thing with a curl of flexture. சுழியாதது, appel. n. (neg.) That which has not a curl--as டு. 61)
நாகம்
nākam (p. 273) s. The cobra-de-capella of hooded snake, நல்லபாம்பு; 2. A naga, or demigod, having a human face, with the tail of a serpent, and the expanded neck of the cobra. The race is said to inhabit a region called Patala or நாகலோகம், under the earth. 3. Lead, நயம். 4. Black lead, காரியம். 5. The black monkey, கருங்குரங்கு. 6. Monkey in general, குரங்கின்பொது. 7. An elephant, யானை. 8. A tree. See புன்னை. 9. Fragrant herb, as ஞாழல். 1. A medicinal tree, ஓர் மருந்துமரம். 11. An astrological karna, ஓர் கரணம். W. p. 458. NAGA. 12. (Sa Naka.) The visible heavens, ether, sky, atmosphere, ஆகாயம். 13. Swerga or the Indian paradise, சுவர்க்கம். 14. A kind of prepared arsenic, நாகபாஷாணம். 15. A kind of precious stone, நாகப்பச்சை. 16. A mountain, மலை. See நாகு. 17. Fine cloth, நற்றூசு.--Note. Of the நாகம் snakes there are said to be of different castes as among men; being four chief, and one inferior caste; which differ in form, motion, food and habits. அஷ்டநாகம், s. The eight famed serpents of the nether world employed at the eight cardinal points to support the earth are: 1. வாசுகி. 2. அனந்தன். 3. தக்ஷ கன். 4. சங்கபாலன். 5. குளிகன். 6. பதுமன். 7. மகாபதுமன். 8. கார்க்கோடன். To these the thousand headed ஆதிசேக்ஷன், king of the race, supporting the earth at the centre is sometimes numbered as a ninth. நாககள்ளி, s. A kind of recumbent shrub, ஓர்கள்ளி. நாககன்னி--நாககன்னிகை, s. Female of the naga race, especially a wife of Arjuna. நாகசாபம், s. Curse of the cobra. inflicted on a person for killing it. See நாகப்பிரிதஷ்டை. நாகசின்னம்--நாகசுரம்--நாகஸ்வரம். s. [com. நாகசரம்.] A kind of pipe or clarionet, one of the chief musical instruments, ஓர்துளைக்கருவி. நாகதத்துவம், s. One of the qualities of women ஸ்திரீகுணத்தொன்று. நாகதம்பிரான்--நாகதேவன், s. [prov.] the cobra snake regarded as a god, properly applied to ஆதிசேஷன், the chief of the nether world. See நல்லதம்பிரான். நாகதாளி, s. A species of தாளி, the root of which is used by snake dancers-the snake drawing back its head, and retiring when it is presended; also deemed an antidote to snake bites, Cacumis anguinus, L. நாகதாளிகள்ளி, s. A plant fed on by the silvestre or cochineal insect. Oblong Indian fig. (Ains.) நாகதிசை, s. West point, மேற்கு. நாகதீபம், s. A lamp in the form of a five headed cobra, ஐந்தலைவிளக்கு. நாகதேவி--நாகம்மா, s. The cobra, as a goddess. நாகநாதன்--நாகநாயகன், s. Indra, இந்திரன். 2. As நாகதேவன். நாகபடம், s. The spread and figured neck of the cobra, பாம்பின்படம். 2. [com. நாகவடம்.] An ear ornament in imitation of the spread neck of the cobra, ஓர்கா தணி. நாகபட்டணம், s. The town of Negapatam, ஓரூர். நாகபந்தம், s. One of the சித்திரகவி or curious kind of poems. நாகபாசம், s. [in mythol.] A kind of snake-like rope, with a noose or knot, and having life. It is obtained of the gods by austerities; and in war sent to entwine itself about the foe, பாம்புருவமான படைக்கலம். நாகப்பச்சை, s. A precious stone. See ஆற்றுப்பச்சை. நாகப்பற்று--நாகவாடை, s. Alloy of zine in silver, துத்துநாகப்பிடிப்பு. நாகப்பாம்பு, s. The cobra. நாகப்பிரதிஷ்டை, s. The making of a five headed cobra and worshipping it, to expiate the sin of killing a cobra by the person or his ancestors, which it is supposed prevents offspring. நாகப்பிரம்பு, s. A kind of rod in the shpe of a snake, ஓர்பிரம்பு. நாகப்பூ--நாகம்பூ, s. The flowers of the நாகம் tree, used medicinally; also called சிறுநாகப்பூ. நாகப்பூச்சி, s. A worm, an earth-worm, also called பூநாகம், by native doctors, who make of it several preparations. நாகமணல், s. Sand containing lead. நாகமணி--நாகரத்தினம், s. The gem supposed to be found in the head of the cobra. See ஐந்தலைநாகம். நாகமரம், s. A kind of red tree. நாகமல்லி--நாகமல்லிகை, s. A medicinal species of the மல்லிகை, used for dying black. The root forms a drug, White flowered justicia, Justicia nasuta, L. நாகமோடி, s. [with வேஷ்டி or சேலை.] A cloth with serpentine stripes, ஓர்பு டவை. நாகம்பூ, s. See நாகப்பூ. நாகராசா, s. The chief of the nagas, ஆதிசேடன். நாகலோகம், s. Swerga, தேவலோகம். 2. The world or region of the nagas under the earth, கீழுலகத்தொன்று. நாகவடம், s. See நாகபடம். நாகவராளி, s. A kind of tune, ஓரிரா கம். நாகவல்லி--நாகவள்ளி, s. A betel plant, வெற்றிலைக்கொடி. 2. [also நாகவல்லி முகூர்த்தம்.] The finishing ceremony of a marriage on the fifth day, கல்யாணச்ச டங்கிலொன்று. நாகவாடை, s. In gold coin, a slight alloy, supposed to be contracted from the metal of the mould, செம்பூறல். நாகவாய், s. An instrument used by turners, ஓர்கடைச்சற்கருவி. நாகாசனன், s. The Brahmany-kite, whose food is snakes; [ex அசனம், food.] நாகாத்திரம்--நாகாஸ்திரம், s. A dart, as நாகபாசம். நாகாந்தகன், s. Garuda, as the devourer of snakes, the vehicle of Vishnu, கருடன்; [ex அந்தகன்.] நாகாபரணம், s. An ornament in form of a cobra, worn by Siva, சிவனணியி னொன்று. நாகாபரணன், appel. n. Siva. சிவன். நாகாலயம், s. The inferior world or abode of the nagas. நாகேந்திரன், s. The cobra--as a deity. பைந்நாகம், s. A cobra. See பை. பறவைநாகம், s. A winged serpent, a flying dragon. 20) *

Setting up a stone at the first funeral ceremony, to represent the deceased, whose soul is supposed to be brought into it, by incantations. It is afterwards cast into the Ganges, or other waters, சிலாஸ்தாப னம். பாஷாணமுத்தி, s. Bliss like that of a stone, annihilation--as taught by the Buddhists, கற்போற்கிடக்குமுத்தி. 27) *

The guilt of brahmanicide as attaching to the soul and haunting the murderer. See under அத்தி. பிரமகத்திதோஷம்-பிரமகத்தியாதோஷம், s. Guilt of brahmanicide. பிரமகத்திதொலையல், v. noun. Terminating of the guilt of brahmanicide. பிரமகபாலம், s. The skull of the upper of fifth head of Brahma, plucked off by Siva, in the form of Bhairava, for pride; and worn by Siva as a part of his garland, or carried in his hand when begging, பிரமன்றலைஓடு. பிரமகற்பம், s. The age of Brahma. See கற்பம். பிரமகன்னிகை, s. A female of the Brahman caste, பிராமணப்பெண். 2. Sarasvati, சரஸ்வதி. பிரமகாதகன், s. Murderer of a brahman, பிராமணக்கொலைபாதகன். பிரமகாயத்திரி, s. Dict. is different. பிரமக்கியானம், s. As பிரமஞானம். பிரமக்கியானி, s. See பிரமஞானி. பிரமசடங்கம், s. Touching six members of the body, while repeating the five lettered incantation appropriated to the five faces of Siva, as representing the five operative dcities, ஆறங்கத்தோடு செய்யுஞ்செபம். பிரமசரியம்--பிரமசாரித்துவம், s. The order, condition or religious practice of the Brahmachari or religious unmarried student, நான்கு நிலையினொன்று. பிரமசரியமனுட்டிக்க, inf. To commence the practice of a religious student, commonly about the sixteenth year. பிரமசாபாலம், s. One of the thirty-two Upanishads, உபநிடதமுப்பத்திரண்டினொன்று. பிரமசாரி, s. The religious bachelorstudent, the first of the four orders prescribed for the brahmanical tribe. See ஆச்சிரமம். 2. Bishma, a son of king சந்தனு. பிரமசாரிசந்நியாசி, s. One who passes from the student to the ascetic or fourth order, without passing through the intermediate stages, பிரமசரியத்தினின்றுஞ்சன் னியாசியாச்சிரமத்திற்புகுந்தோன். பிரமசித்தி, s. Success, in acquiring a knowledge of the deity. பிரமசூத்திரம், s. A thread or cord consisting of three threads worn by brahmans, புரிநூல். 2. The name of a treatise, ஓர்நூல். பிரமசைதன்னியம், s. The original or first cause, God, கடவுள். பிரமஞானம், s. Experimental knowledge of the deity. 2. Regarding every thing as god. பிரமஞானி, s. One who has made great attainments in the knowledge of God, so as to become one with Him, பரமஞானி. பிரமதண்டம், s. A stick to support the chin, used by brahmans, in meditation. பிரமதண்டு, s. A stick used by devotees or yogis, யோகதண்டம். 2. See பிரமம், giddiness. பிரமதத்துவம், s. True knowledge of the Supreme deity, மெய்ஞ்ஞானம். பிரமதாயம், s. What is allowed to brahmans, or held free by them. பிரமதானம்--பிரமஸ்தானம், s. The inmost recess in a temple where the chief idol is placed, as கர்ப்பக்கிரகம். பிரமதேவன், s. The god Brahma, the Creator or Evolver of worlds. பிரமத்துவம், s. The divine nature, கட வுட்டன்மை. பிரமநிருவாணம், s. Union with the deity, கடவுளுடனொன்றுகை. பிரமபதம்--பிரமபதவி, s. The world of Brahma, an inferior state of bliss. பிரமபுத்திரம், s. The river, Brahmaputra, ஓர்நதி. பிரமபுத்திரி, s. The Sarasvati river, சரஸ்வதியாறு. 2. The goddess Sarasvati, சரஸ்வதி. பிரமபுரம், s. Seehali, a town in Southern India on the northern bank of the Cavery, சீகாழி. பிரமபுராணம், s. Puranas which teach that Brahma is the chief deity. In the celebrated eighteen there are two of this class. the பிரமம், and the பதுமம். (சது.) பிரமப்பிரளயம், s. The deluge at the end of the life of Brahma, பிரமனாயுள்முடி வில்வரும்பிரளயம். பிரமமணம், s. One of the eight modes of marriage. See மணம். பிரமமுனி--பிரமரிஷி, s. A Rishi of the Brahman caste, as most of them are. பிரமமூலி, s. A medicinal plant. See பிரமி. பிரமயாகம், s. One of the five யாகம், எச்சமைந்தினொன்று. பிரமயோனி, s. The birth, origin, or extraction of a brahman, பிராமணப்பிறப்பு. பிரமரட்சு, s. A savage man of a monstrous size, பருத்தமுருடன். பிரமரந்திரம், s. The tender part of the crown of the head where the bone is not formed in infancy, and through which it is said the soul of a yogi departs when he chooses to die, உச்சித்துவாரம். பிரமராட்சதன், s. A goblin or savage animated by the soul of a brahman, who in a former birth died with unexpiated sin. பிரமராட்சதி-பிரமராட்சதை, s. The ghost of a brahmani who having died a violent death appears in the form of a demon, inhabiting trees and possessing all the knowledge previously obtained, பார்ப் பாரப்பெண்பேய். பிரமலிபி, s. The writing of Brahma in the forehead of all persons before birth; fate, destiny. See தலைஎழுத்து. பிரமலிபிதப்பாது. The writing of Brahma will not fail. பிரமலோகம், s. The world and heaven of Brahma, being the seventh and highest of the seven upper worlds, also called சத்தியலோகம். (சது.) பிரமவமிசம், s. Lineage in succession from Brahma. 2. The race of brahmans, பிராமணசாதி. பிரமவாதம், s. The religious tenets of the Vedas considered systematically, வேதமதம். பிரமவித்து, s. One of the four grades of those who pursue a true and perfect knowledge of the deity, நால்வகைமுத்தரி லொருவன். பிரமவிந்து--பிரமபிந்து. s. The seed, or progeny of a brahman, &c., பிராமணவிந்து. 2. One of the thirty-two Upanishads. See உபநிடதம். பிரமனாள், s. The fourth lunar asterism, உரோகிணி. (சது.) பிரமன்--பிரமா, s. Brahma of the Triad, as creator, progenitor or evolver of worlds and creatures, நான்முகன். பிரமன்--பிரமா, s. Brahma of the Triad, as creator, progenitor or evolver of worlds and creatures, நான்முகன். பிரமன்றந்தை, s. Vishnu as father of Brahma, விஷ்ணு. பிரமாஞ்சலி, s. A form of worship in which the two hands are joined, and placed at the breast. பிரமாட்சரம், s. A letter which is the origin of all letters, and the prime root of all prayers and incantations, மூலவெ ழுத்து. பிரமாண்டம், s. The system of worlds, as created by Brahma, உலகம். 2. One of the eighteen Puranas, பதினெண்புரா ணத்தொன்று. 3. [fig.] That which is large, gigantic, huge, colossal, காத்திரம். (usage.) பிரமாண்டநாயகன், s. Lord of the universe, கடவுள். 2. An epithet used in praise, or compliment, சக்கரவர்த்தி. பிரமாத்திரம்--பிரமாஸ்திரம், s. A famous arrow of supernatural qualities, given by Brahma to some, who had practised extraordinary austerities. பிரமாந்தரம், s. Certain parts of the body regarded as stations of the soul, உயிர்நிலை. பிரமாயு, s. The age of Brahma, as பிர மகற்பம்; [ex ஆயு.] பிரமாயுதம், s. A number, one million, பத்திலட்சம். (சது.) பிரமாரண்ணியம், s. The name of a town called வேதாரண்ணியம். பிரமாலயம், s. The house of a brahman. பிரமானந்தம், s. Heavenly bliss, or felicity, as பரமானந்தம். பிரமோத்தரகாண்டம், s.
