Learn perfectly what thou hast to learn, and when thou hast learned it, act upon and persist in it. (திருவள்.) கல்லாதவன், s. An illiterate, ignorant man, an idiot. கல்லாமை, v. noun. A very young scholar, கற்குஞ்சிறுவன். 2. One who has acquired a smattering of knowledge--as taught him without exercising judgment; a superficial scholar,சிறிதுகற்றவன். கற்றுக்கொடுக்க, inf. To instruct. கற்றுக்கொள்ள, inf. To learn. கற்றுச்சொல்லி, s. A poet's assistant who learns and sings his verses, துணைக்கவிஞன். கற்றல், v. noun. Learning. கற்றல்கேட்டல்பயிறல். In making an accomplished scholar, study, enquiry or (hearing), intercourse with the learned are necessary. 276)

Arts displaying skill, சித்திரத்தொழில். 4. Magic, jugglery, காரடவித்தை.--It retains its Sans. pronunciation in most of the compounds. வித்தியாசாலை, s. A college. வித்தியாதத்துவம், s. A department of knowledge, one of the தத்துவத்திரயம். According to the Saivas, it includes; 1. காலம், time; 2. நியதி, fate; 3. கலை, science; 4. வித்தை, arts; 5. இராகம், desire; 6. புரு டன் or ஆன்மா, soul; 7. மாயை, matter. வித்தியாதரர், s. [pl.] Lords of learning, learned men, poets, வித்தை யாளர். வித்துவசிரோமணி, s. One trancendently eminent for learning. வித்துவாமிசன்--வித்துவான், s.
