Celestial longitude, as சுத்தப்புடம், இலக்கினபுடம். 5. Place, location, spot, இடம். 6. Side, outside, புறம். (சது.)--Note. In sublimating medicines different tests are given according to the number of வறட்டி, or pieces of dried cowdung used for the fire; as கா டைப்புடம், the quail-test with one piece; கவுதாரிப்புடம், the partridge, with three; குக் குடபுடம், the fowl, with ten; வராகபுடம், the hog-test with twenty, or the greater; கன புடம், with, fifty; கசபுடம், the elephant-test with a hundred, or, as most say, one thousand, when all will be finished. There are also சூரியபுடம், exposure to the sun; தானிய புடம், purification of oils by placing them in grain; பூமிபுடம், or பூடம், of salts by placing them in the earth, in bottles. புடமிட--புடம்போட,புடம்வைக்க, inf. To refine metals, or sublimate medicines. புடவிக்கேபம்--புடவிட்சேபம்--சுத்தவிக் கேபம்--சுத்தவிட்சேபம், s. [also புடநதி.] The true celestial latitude of a heavenly body. 2. Apparent distance of the centres of the sun and moon at conjunction, being the sum (or difference, as the case may be), of the three விக்கேபம். சசிவிக்கேபம், இரவிவிக்கேபம், and நித்தியவிக் கேபம். 34)
