Rolls of cotton or flax prepared for spinning, பஞ்சுக்கொட்டை. 5. A plug or tent of cloth to widen the hole in the ear for jewels, திரி. 6. A kind of female ear ornament, ஓர்காதணி. 7. The knob of a wooden sandal, பாதகுறட்டின்குமிழ். 8. A pad for the head in carrying a load, சும்மாடு. 9. A bolster, a pillow; a cushion, தலையணை. 1. The pericarp of the lotus flower, with which the female body is compared for softness, தாமரைக்கொட்டை. 11. [prov.] The fruit buds of the jack tree, பலாப்பிஞ்சு. கொட்டைகட்ட, inf. To gamble with இருப்பை seeds, ஓர்விளையாட்டு. கொட்டைக்காய், s. A seedy or stony fruit; any fruit the stones or seeds of which are large, or numerous, in proportion to the pulp. கொட்டைக்கச்சி--கொட்டைக்கையில், s. [prov. vul.] The half of a cocoanut shell. See கொட்டங்கைச்சி. கொட்டைக்குவிட, inf. To let a plant go to seed. கொட்டைச்செத்தல்--கொட்டைத்தேங் காய், s. [prov.] A dry cocoanut in which the kernel rattles, கொப்பரைத்தேங்காய். கொட்டைநூற்க, inf. To spin cotton, flax, &c. கப்பலோடிப்பட்டகடன் கொட்டைநூற்றுத்தீரு மோ. Will the debt contracted by a ship merchant be paid by spinning cotton? கொட்டைபுதைக்க--கொட்டைதாழ்க்க, inf. To plant fruit stones. கொட்டைப்பாக்கு, s. An entire arekanut dried without boiling. கொட்டைப்புளி, s. Pulp of tamarind fruit with the stones. கொட்டைப்போட, inf. To sprinkle lye on clothes to whiten them. சாரத்தின்சத்துரு, s. An egg, from its neutralizing qualities, முட்டை. சாரக்கட்டை, s. A temporary wall, made use of in turning an arch. (R.) சாரத்துளை, s. Scaffold-holes in a building. சாரம்போட--சாரங்கட்ட, inf. To erect a scaffolding. (c.) சாரஸ்திரி, s. [Com. சோரஸ்திரி.] A vicious woman, an adulteress, விபசாரி. (p.) சாரத்துவம், s. Adultery, விபசாரம். சாரவறுதி--சாரவிறுதி, v. noun. [prov.] Lightness, slightness--as of a blow, a fall, &c.; [ex சாரம், strength, et அறுதி or இறுதி, wanting.] சாரவறுதியாய்ப்பட்டது. It hit him but slightly. சாரவாக்கியம், s. [in astron.] A table or any tabular number in it for counting the progress of the planets.--Note.
