koḷuvu (p. 147) கிறேன்,கொளுவினேன், வேன், கொளுவ, [vul.] v.a. To hook, clasp, buckle, latch on a nail, to hook on; to grapple, பூட்ட. 2. To entangle and ensnare, to take in, to entrap, inveigle, அகப்படுத்த. 3. To take into partnership, கூட்டுச்சேர்க்க. 4. To contrive,. to manage by artifice, contrivance or scheming, தந்திரஞ்செய்ய. 5. [prov.] To put on shoes, sandals, &c., செ ருப்புமுதலியதொடுக்க. 6. v. n. To be engaged --as in an employment; to be ensnared or entrapped, &c., கொளுவுண்ண. 7. To make an impression--as on the mind, பற்ற. 8. [prov. impersonal.] to have cramp, stitches, &c., in the bowels or side, &c., குடல்தூக்கிக்கொள்ள. அந்தவேலையிலே கொளுவினபின்பு. Since he was engaged in the business. கொளுவிக்கொள்ள, inf. To hook, to engage, to entangle. சங்கிலிகொளுவிக்கொண்டது. The chain has become entangled. கொளுவிப்பிடிக்க, inf.
