kōṭu (p. 149) (Gen, ட்டின், s. Crookedness, flexture, obliquity, a crooked thing, வளைவு. W. p. 25. KÔTA. 2. A diagram or figure, as a square, a circle, an ellipse, &c., வடிவம். 3. Dividing or describing lines, கீ ற்று. 4. A chank, சங்கு. 5. The horn or tusk of a beast, விலங்கின்கொம்பு. 6. The horn or chank for blowing, ஊதிடுகொம்பு. 7. The symbol of the எ, ெ, or ே, எழுத்தின்கொம்பு. 8. A branch, மரக்கொம்பு. 9. The summit of a hill, மலையினுச்சி. 1. Shore, bank of a river, margin of a tank or well, &c., நீர்க்க ரை. 11. Ridge, dam, bank in rice--field, வரம்பு. 12. (sa. Kota.) A strong hold, a fort, a fortified place, அரணிருக்கை. 13. Guile, deceit, வஞ்சனை. 14. Crowd, numbers, multitude, திரள். (பிங்.) 15. Side, பக்கம். (பிங்.) 16. A cusp, the horn of the crescent moon, &c., பிறைக்கோடு. 17. [loc. for.] Court of justice, நீதிஸ்தலம். கோடுகீற--கோடுகிழிக்க, inf. To draw lines; to make diagrams, figures, &c. நீர்கிழித்தகோட்டுக்குள்ளடங்கியிருக்கிறேன். I am within the line you drew, i. e., I obey your order. கோடுகீறிமறிக்க, inf. To draw a circle on the ground round a debtor, adjuring him not to pass it till the debt is paid. 2. To draw a circle round one in order to extort a promise from him. 3. To draw a magic line in order to stop a wild beast, தடைகட்ட. கோடுபோட, s. To rule a paper to write (c.) கோட்டிலக்கம், s. [in arith.] Magic squares. [limited usage.] கோட்டில்வாழ்விலங்கு, s.
