Sack-cloth of Indian hemp, as கோணிப்பட்டு, whence the name 'gunny bags.' 5. An affix to the name of a small town, village, or hamlet, as செங்கல்பட்டு. W. p. 496. PAT'T'A. (சது.) பட்டுகுலைந்தால்பொட்டு, If silk be rumpled, it is spoiled. பட்டுப்போலேதூள். Very fine powder. பட்டுப்போலேதெள்ளுதல். Sifting in a very fine fan. பட்டுக்கயிலி, s. A silk apron.
