GOTRA. கோத்திரமறிந்து பெண்கொடு பாத்திரமறிந்து பிச்சை யிடு. Know one's parentage, and then give a girl in marriage; know one's desert and then give him alms. கோத்திரங்கூற--கோத்திரஞ்செப்ப, inf.
