capai (p. 160) s. A hall of assembly, a public hall; especially the halls in the temple at Chillumbram (சிதம்பரம்), மண்டபம்,--Note. Five apartments are enumerated in which Siva is said to manifest himself--as கனக சபை, சித்திரசபை, சிற்சபை, தேவசபை, நிருத்தசபை, which see. 2. (c.) Siva--as god of the sacred halls at சிதம்பரம், சிவன். சபாமண்டபம், s. A public hall, assembly room. சாபாரஞ்சிதம், s. Pleasing manners, சபைக்கிதமானதன்மை; [ex இரஞ்சிதம், pleasantness.] சபைகூட, inf. To assemble, as a society or company. சபைக்கட்டு, s. [in Christian usage.] The established rules of the church. (c.) சபைக்கோழை, s. [com. சவைக்கோ ழை.] Bashfulness in company. See கோழை சபைச்சேகரத்தார், s. Parishioners. (R.) சபைப்பழக்கம், s. Acquaintance with society, etiquette, ceremony, &c. சபையார், s. The members of an assembly, society. 2. [among Christians.] Church-members, திருச்சபையார். சபையிருத்த, inf. To seat a company properly according to their respective rank, to keep them in order, &c. (Little used.) சபையிலிருந்துதள்ள--சபைக்குப்புறம் பாக்க, inf. To exclude or reject from society, to excommunicate. சபையேற, inf. To come before an assembly, to appear--as a performer, &c. 2. To join or mix in society. சபையேறினவன், s. A person accustomed to society. 2. A person of good manners, free from rusticity, &c. சபையுள்ளார், s. The chorus, or the chief singers, in a play, கூத்தாடிகட்கு உதவி யாய்ப்படிப்போர். (p.) சபைவளமை--சபைவண்மை, s. The authority or public acts of an assembly, சபையதிகாரம். (R.) சபையேற்ற, inf. To admit, or introduce one of low rank into society. 2. To indroduce one into an assembly, to overcome his bashfulness. (p.) நாட்டியச்சபை, s. An assembly as spectators of a play or ball, &c. 30)
