A corrosive plaster, a blister, புண்ணுக்குப்போடுமோர்மருந்துச்சீலை. காரத்திரி, s. A kind of seton with a corrosive or caustic preparation on it, inserted in an abscess, &c., காரச்சீலைத்திரி. காரநீர், s. Dyer's lye made of alum, rust, &c., காரமாயசாயநீர். காரப்பசை, s. A cement of solder of குன்றிமணி seeds and alum, used by gold or silver smiths, காரமானபசை. காரம்போட, inf. To apply alkali, caustic, &c. காரம்போட்டுவெளுக்க, inf. To whiten cloth, &c., with lye or alkali. காரம்வைத்துப்புண்ணாக்க, inf. To make a sore by applying a corrosive, for reducing a tumour, &c. காரம்பூச, inf. The female energy or active power of deity in all the operations of creating, preserving, destroying, &c., பராசத்திமுதலியன.--Note. Each form of the deity is represented as having a distinct சத்தி described as his consort. 3. A name of பார்வதி. 4. The female organ, as the counter part of the phallic emblem of Siva, ஆவிடையார். 5. To be wanting in strength. சத்திசெலுத்த, inf. To authorise. (p.) சத்திபூசை, s. The puja-worship of the வாமர் sect, performed in secret with raw flesh, ardent spirit, &c. The object of worship being the privities of a naked woman, in personification of the fecundating and operative principle of deity in nature. சத்தியுள்ளவன், s. A rich man, a man of influence. (c.) சத்தியில்லாதவன், s. An incompetent person, a weak person. (c.) சத்திவிளங்க, inf. [loc.] To become manifest as power, a miraculous power. அருட்சத்தி, s. [in சிவஞானபோதம்.] The active energy of deity which is said to enlighten the soul and to be a source of benefit to all animated beings. சிவசத்தி, s. Sakti, or active power considered in its inseparable connection with Siva. (சிவ.சி.) 2. (R.) The consort of Siva, பார்வதி. 3. Siva and his consort. திரவியசத்தி, s. Pecuniary ability. மந்திரசத்தி, s. cuṭlai (p. 193) s. A burning ground, a place for burning dead bodies, மயானம்; [ex சுடு, burn.] (c.) சுடலையிற்பேய். Devils that haunt burning places. சுடலைகாக்க, inf. To watch the funeral pile till the body is consumed; the office of a பறையன். சுடலைக்கரை, s. A place for burning the dead. சுடலைக்காடு, s. As சுடுகாடு. சுடலைக்குருவி, s. [prov.] A bird of passage with a long tail and large crest; which is active chiefly by night. Compare சாக்குருவி. சுடலைஞானம், s. (Sometimes சுடுகாட்டு வைராக்கியம்.)
