Mayesvara, மயேச்சுரன். 5. Sathasiva, சதாசிவன், These are called, பஞ்சமூர்த்திகள்; the five Murtis, or பஞ்சகர்த்தாக்கள்; five lords. தேவர்கோயில், s. A temple, தேவால யம். தேவர்கோன்--தேவேந்திரன், s. Indra. தேவர்க்காடல், v. noun. Demoniac possession, dancing after certain sacrifices to devils, as சன்னதம், which see. தேவர்வகை, s. The gods of Swerga, 33,,, are divided into four classes, with a chief for each கோடி, or 1,,, as follows. 1.துவாதசாதித்தர், the twelve Adityas. ஆதித்தர், (lit.) the twelve suns, chiefs of their class numbering with them, 12,,, 2. ஏகாதசருத்திரர், the eleven Rudras. உருத்திரர், lords of their companies. comprising in all, 11,,, 3. அஷ்டவசுக்கள், the eight Vasus. their classes, including themselves, containing 8,,. 4. மருத்துவர், the two Asvinis, அச்சுவினிகள், the two physicians, the whole class being 2,,. தேவலகன், s. A brahman who attends on an idol, அர்ச்சகப்பிராமணன். W. p. 423. DEVALAKA. தேவலோகம், s. World of the gods, Swerga, the third of the secven upper worlds, of which Indra is king, the lowest heaven of mortals, who assume the form of gods for a residence in it. The enjoyments are all sensual, and the period of their continuance depends on the merit of the persons while on earth. When this is exhausted, they return for another period of probation; or go to a place of suffering for the expiration of previous demerit. This is the only heaven presented to the hope of the multitude, and generally the highest bliss they anticipate, சுவர் க்கம். தேவவசனம்--தேவவாக்கு, s. The word of God, the divine, word, கடவுள்வாக்கு. தேவவசீகரம், s. [R. Cathol. usage] Transubstantiation. See வசீகரணம். தேவவருஷம்--தேவவருடம், s. A year of the gods. See தேவாண்டு. தேவவிரதன், s. DEVAVRUKSHA. தேவவெளிப்படுத்தல், s. (Chirs. usage.) Divine revelation. தேவவைத்தியம், s. Superior medical preparations requiring a knowledge of chemistry, and regarded as of divine origin. The horse of Indra, இந்திரன்பரி; [ex அசுவம்.] தேவாண்டு--தேவஆண்டு, s. A year of the gods of Swerga, being three hundred and sixty-five yaers of mortals, திவ்வியவருஷம். தேவாதாயம்--தேவதாயம், s. Allowance for the support of heathen temples. தேவாதி, s. God, கடவுள், (சது.) தேவாதிதேவன், s. The God of gods. தேவாதியர், s. [com.தேவாதிகள்.] The gods of Swerga and other celestials. தேவாதீனம், s. Properties, peculiar rights, prerogative, &c., of a deity. 2. Divine providence. See தெய்வாதீனம். தேவாத்திரம்--தேவாஸ்திரம், s. A divine missile-weapon from the gods. தேவாமிர்தம்--தேவாமுதம், s. The ambrosia of the gods, the food of immortality, தேவருணவு. தேவாரம், s. Divine praises, songs, &c., chanted by an assistant of the priest others, after the performance of the puja in the Saiva temples. They were made by the three celebrated servants of Siva, அப்பர், சம்பந்தர் and சுந்தரர், and are called the Tamil Vedas, being considered divine. தேவாலயம், s. Rice hulled without boiling; for flour, &c. See புழுங்கலரிசி. பச்சிலை, s. A kind of ever-green, the தமாலம். Xanthocymus pictorious. 2. A green fresh leaf, பச்சையிலை. 3. A medicament consisting of leaves, பசுமருந்து. பச்சிலைகிச்சிலிக்கிழங்கு. The medicament, and கிச்சிலி, an aromatic root. பச்சிலைச்சாறுபோலே. Hue of leaf-juice, a leaf juice green. பச்சிலைப்பாம்பு, s. [com. பச்சைப்பாம் பு.] A kind of green snake. பச்சிலைமருந்து, s. Leaves used medicinally. பச்சிலையோணான், s. [prov. for பச்சோ ணான், which see.] The chameleon. பச்சிறைச்சி, s. Raw meat, flesh, &c. 2. A raw sore, பச்சைப்புண். பச்சுடம்பு, s. The tender body of an infant, or of a woman after child-birth. 2. One still sore from small pox, &c. பச்செனல், v. noun. Being green, verdant, tender, or beautiful. பச்சென்றஉடம்பு. A tender and beautiful body--said of the female sex. பச்செனவு, v. noun. Greenness, verdure. பச்சை. 2. Moistness, dampness, sap, juice, ஈரம். 3. Plumpness, fulness, பொலிவு. பச்செனவானமரம். A verdant tree. உடம்பிலேசற்றும்பச்செனவில்லை. There is no flesh, no plumpness on him. பச்சோணான்--பச்சோந்தி, s. The goddess of virtue, தருமதேவதை. பரமசைதன்னியம், s. Universal spirit or intelligence, the Supreme Being. பரமதூர்த்தன், s. A capital rake, மிகு துட்டன். பரமநாழிகை, s. The whole period of hours during which a திதி, வாரம், கரணம், யோகம் or நட்சத்திரம் lasts. பரமநிஷ்டை, s. Contemplation on the deity, the mind being entirely set upon பரமநிவர்த்தி, s. Final liberation from anxieties, and secularities, &c., பாச விமோசனம். பரமபதம், s. The heaven of a god, more especially of Vishnu, as bestowed on his followers. பரமபதவாசி, s. An inhabitant of the heavenly place. 2. Vishnu; also Siva. பரமபாகவதசிகாமணி--பரமபாகவதன், s. A superior class of Vaishnuvas. பரமமூர்த்தி, s. The Supreme Being. 2. Vishnu, விஷ்ணு. பரமயோக்கியம், s. Divine excellence as தேவதாயோக்கியம். பரமரகசியம், s. A divine secret or mystery; also used in irony. பரமலுத்தன், s. A great niggard. பரமலோகம், s. A world of bliss. பரமாகாயம், s. The wide expanse of ether, as the abode of deity, or the vacuum of the yogi, பெருவெளி. பரமாங்கிசம், s. A part of divinity; [ex அமிசம்.] 2. [hon. for அங்கிசம்.] A upanishad. பரமாணு, s. An atom, the invisible base of aggregate bodies; In Wils. thirty of them are supposed to form a mote in a sunbeam, பொருண்மூலம். 2. [in modern usage.] Atmosphere, ஆகா யம்.--The atomic bases of the five elements, called பஞ்சபூதஅணு, are பிருதுவிப் பரமாணு, atomic base of earth, being water; 2. அப்புப்பரமாணு, of water, being fire; 3. தேயுப்பரமாணு, atomic base of fire, being air; 4. வாயுப்பரமாணு, of air or wind. being ether; 5. ஆகாயப்பரமாணு, of ether being maya. பரமாத்துமம்--பரமாத்துமா, s. The soul of the universe. 2. The Deity or universal soul, as contrasted with சீவாத் துமா, the human soul. பரமாத்துமன், s. God as the soul of the world, கடவுள். 2. (fig.)
