Salutation, success, prosperity; a sanscrit term of benediction at the opening of a treatise, &c., மங்களச்சொல்; [ex அஸ்து.] சுபமிருத்து, s. A good or auspicious death. (p.) சுபயோகம், s. Auspicious yogas, being eighteen out of twenty-seven. (See யோகம்.) 2. The conjunction of an auspicious day of the week, phase of the moon and lunar constellation. cōpaṉam (p. 212) s. (Sa. S'obhana.) Beauty, handsomeness, அழகு. 2. Joy, felicity, festivity, an auspicious sign, omen or event, சுபம். 3. Congratulation, felicitation, blessing, benediction, வாழ்த்து. 4. Happy circumstances, seasonableness, advantage, முகூர்த்தம். (c.) 5. One of the twenty-seven astronomical yogas, ஓர் யோகம். (p.) ஆ! நல்லசோபனங்கிடைத்தது. O! a joyful event has happened to me; used also ironically when one has been well abused. [prov.] நெல்லுநடநல்லசோபனம். It is auspicious for planting paddy (perhaps from rain.) சோபனகாரியம், s. A joyful, prosperous, or auspicious event--spoken of weddings, maturity of a female, &c. சோபனங்கூற--சோபனஞ்சொல்ல, inf. To communicate good news as the birth of a son, a happy marriage, the attainment of a marriage fortune, a good office, &c. 2. To congratulate; to express one's self in auspicious language. 3. Cath. usage.] The Eucharist, நற்கருணை; [ex நல்.] (c.) உன்காரியம்நன்மையாகும். Your undertaking will prosper; a prognostic. நன்மைகடைப்பிடித்தல், v. noun. Holding right principles firmly; one of the eight acts of beneficence. See தயாவிருத்தி. நன்மைசெய்ய, inf. To do good. நன்மைதீமை, s. Good and evil, prosperity and adversity. 2. The last words of a dying person aware of his state. 3. Festive and funeral occasions. (c.) நன்தீமைக்கவனைஅழைக்கிறதில்லை. They do not invite him either to festivities or funerals. நன்மைதீமையிரண்டுமில்லாதவன். A good natured, harmless person. 2. A simpleton. நன்மைதீமைசொல்ல, inf. To praise and dispraise. 2.
