akppāṭṭuṟuppu (p. 2) s. The twelve members of அகப்பொருள் or அகத்திணை, viz. 1. இயல்பகத்திணை. Method of defining a thing or showing its nature, quality, &c. 2. வகையகத்திணை. A base woman who outwardly appears faithful to her husband. ஆசாரச்சாவடி, s. King's court, கொலுமண்டபம். ஆசாரத்துடனிருக்க, inf. To remain uncontaminated, unpolluted after ablution. ஆசாரபோசன், s. A person of very respectable and dazzling appearance. ஆசாரப்பிழை, s. Ill-manners. 2. Want of cleanliness. ஆசாரப்புடவை, s. Silk cloth, or some other, worn when the daily rites are performed. The former is deemed the more sacred and not needing to be dipped in water for purification. Those unable to keep silk for the purpose, wear cotton cloths and dip them every time to purify them. ஆசாரவாசல்--ஆசாரவாயில், s. The outer hall in a king's court, where his subjects may assemble. 2. A room at the outer gate, or place of entrance of a house, தலைவாசல். ஆசாரோபசாரம், s. Civilities, politeness, compliments. 48)

iṭkku (p. 45) s. Incivility, rudeness in answers, contumely, சேஷ்டை. 2. Indecent words, இழிசொல். 3. Opposition, contrariety, non-compliance, முருட்டுத்தனம். 4. uyir (p. 63) s. Life, soul, vitality, animal or vegetable life, சீவன். 2. Wind, காற்று. 3. A vowel, உயிரெழுத்து. 4. A living being, human, brute, or vegetable; an animal, ஓரறி வுயிர்முதலியசீவராசி. உயிருமுடலும்போல. As closely united as the soul and body. உயிர்போய்விட்டது. Life is gone. மன்னுயிர்க்கிரங்குகிறது. To be compassionate to other living creatures. உயிரடங்க, inf. To be in a state of insensibility, be in a swoon, to be suspended as the vital powers. உயிரடைய, inf. To revive, to be reanimated. உயிரளபு--உயிரளபெடை, s. The lengthening of a vowel in verse. See அளபெடை. உயிரறுதியும். Till the very end of life. உயிருதவி, s. Aid in a fatal juncture. 2. Aid by sacrificing life for another. உயிரெடுக்க, inf. To take away life. உயிரெழுத்து, s. A vowel, ஆவி. உயிரொடுங்க, inf. To be reduced as the powers before death, உயிரடங்க. 2. To die, சாவ. உயிரொளிக்க, inf. [prov.] To feign great weakness, sickness, inability, &c., in order to gain or effect an object, உயிர்மறைக்க. உயிரொளித்தகள்ளன், s. A cringing deceiver who though rich and strong makes pretensions to the contrary. உயிரோம்ப, inf. To support life, maintain, உயிர்காக்க. உயிர்கலக்க, inf. To revive, to be diffused--as life through the body in one that has been swooning, &c. 2. To reunite as the soul with the body in one restored to life. 3. (fig.) Vengeance, divine or human, persuing the murderer to death, regarded as the ghost of the murdered person, பிரமகத்தி. உயிர்ப்பிராணி, s. [vul.] A living creature, a brute, an inferior animal, சீவபிராணி. உயிர்மாய்க்க, inf. To destroy one's self, commit suicide, தன்னுயிரைப்போக்க. 2. kttṉ (p. 92) s. An agent, a doer, a maker, an author, &c., செய்பவன். See கந்தன். The word is also written கருத்தன். Sans. கர்த்தா. அவனேவெட்டவும்விடவுங்கத்தன். He can either behead him or spare him; i. e. he has arbitrary power. கத்தராளி, s. [prov. vul.] A chief, a principal, an owner, a competent person, தலைவன். அவன்அதற்குக்கத்தராளியோ. Is he competent for that? கத்தவியம், s. See கர்த்தவியம். கத்தா, s. God, கடவுள். கத்தாக்கள், s. (5.) ஆகருட ணம், summoning or invoking a spirit or absent person visibly into one's presence. (6.) வித்துவேடணம், excitment to hatred. (7.) பேதனம், causing separation, dissension, discord. Victory, conquest, வெற்றி. வீரமாகாளர், s. The commander of a Jain army. வீரமாமுனி, s. A name given to Beschi, compiler of சதுரகராதி, and author of the Tembavani and other works. வீரமார்த்தாண்டன், s. A panegyric, on one who has made a successful foray, and been crowned with a wreath of வெட்சி. See பிரபந்தம். வீரவெண்டையம், s. See வெண்டையம். வீரன், s. A hero, a veteran, திண்ணியன். 2.
