tiri (p. 239) கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், திரிய, v. n. To walk about, to wander, to ramble, to go here and there, to stray, to be unsettled, உழல. (c.) 2. To change, to vary, மாற. 3. To perish, அழிய. 4. To turn. to whirl; to revolve--as the heavenly bodies, உருள. 5. To be twisted; to be convolved, சுருள. 6. to revolve, as the soul in transmigrations, பிறவியிற்சுழல. 7. To vary or swerve from truth, மனங்கோண. 8. To be variegated, as a landscape, to be diversified, மாறுபட. 9. [with an infinitive preceding.] To be near or exposed to, as சாகத்திரிந்தேன், I was near dying. 1. [in gram.] To be changed as letters for their correlatives, &c., in combination or otherwise, எழுத்துத்திரிய. லகாரம்றகாரமாகவும்ளகாரம்டகரமாவுந்திரிந்தன..... Change, alteration, mutation, variation, diversity, வே றுபாடு. 2. [in gram.] Permutation, metathesis, &c., புணர்ச்சிவிகாரத்தொன்று. 3. One of the three obstacles to the attainment of heaven.
