pl (p. 301) adj. Many, several, diverse, sundry, manifold, numerous, &c., ஒன்றல்லன. [Compare Sa. Bahula.]-- In combin. பல், பற், பன், as பல்பொருள், பற்பல, பன்மணி. பலதுளிபெருவெள்ளம். Many drops make a great flood; i. e. many small sums make a great amount. பலதீட்டுக்கொருமுழுக்குப்போடுகிறது. One bathing for various pollutions; i. e. many difficulties settled at once. பலகலப்பு--பலகலவை, s., Mixture of diverse things, miscellany. பலகலப்பு ஒருசாதி. A caste of mongrels; lit. several mixtures in one caste. பலகாயம், s. Different spices. பலகாரியம், s. Various things or affairs. பலகாலம், s. Many days, a long time. பலகாலும். Diverse kinds of business, பலதொழில்,--Note. With உம், it signifies, great variety of suffering. &c. வயிறுவளர்க்கப் பலபாடும் படவேணும். A number of armies; opposite of ஒன்றன்கூட்டம்-implying abundance of the same kind of things--as நெல்லதுகுப்பை, a heap of rice. பலவின்பால், s.
