A small bodied spider with long legs, ஓர்சிலந்திப்பூச்சி. 7. A magical spot worn on the forehead, said to enable one to conquer in games, மாயமைப்பொட்டு. 8. [fig.] Repute, esteem, &c., obtained by imposing on others, மதிப்பு. 9. [vul.] A hole or opening in a hedge to creep through, நுழைவழி. 1. [South usage.] The temples. பொட்டரிக்க, inf. To fret a garment --as moths. பொட்டரித்தவஸ்திரம். A moth-eaten garment. பொட்டுக்கட்ட, inf. To tie on the marriage badge, or that of a dancing girl. பொட்டுக்குத்த, inf. [com. பச்சைகுத்த.] To make indelible spots on the body with a vegetable preparation. பொட்டுக்கேடு, v. noun. Loss of illgotten repute. பொட்டுத்தாலி, s. A roundish marriagebadge. See தாலி. பொட்டுப்பூச்சி, s. A small roundbodied venomous spider with long legs. அங்கேபூச்சிபொட்டாயிருக்கும். There will be troublesome insects in that place. பொட்டிட்டாற்போலேபிடித்துக்கொள்.
