tiṉai (p. 241) s. Millet, a kind of grain, ஓர்தானி யம், Panicum italicum, L. 2. (fig.) Smallness, a trifle, சிறுமை.--There are different kinds of millet, வெள்ளைத்தினை, white; அச்சித் தினை, another small kind (probably from Acheen); காட்டுத்தினை, wild; செந்தினை, red; கருந்தினை, dark; அணில்வாற்றினை, a kind of white millet with ears supposed to resemble the tall of the squirrel. தினைவிதைத்தவர்தினையறுப்பார்வினைவிதைத்தவர்வினை யறுப்பார். They that sow millet shall reap millet; they that do evil, will get evil. தினைக்கஞ்சி, s. Millet gruel, for sick persons. தினைக்குருவி, s. A small kind of bird, ஓர்சிறுகுருவி. தினைச்சாமை, s. [prov.] The தினை grain, as a species of சாமை. தினைத்தாள், s. Millet stalks or straw. தினைப்புனம்--தினைப்புலம், s. A millet field. தினைமா, s. Millet-flour. தினையரிசி, s. Husked millet. தினையளவு, s. As much as a grains of millet; i. e. a small matter. தினையளவும்உதவான். He will not help in the least. 68)
