Double meaning, ambiguity in words or language, இருபொருள். Wils. p. 162. UBHAYARTHAM. உபயமாதம், s. [in astrology.] The four months in which the sun is in the உபயவிராசி, equivocal or intermediate signs, viz.: march, June, September, and December, being of medial influence, உபயவிராசிமாதங்கள். உபயராசி, s. Every third sign of the zodiac considered in astrology as auspicious for building, &c. See இராசி. உபயவாதிகள், s. The plaintiff and defendant in a lawsuit, வாதிபிரதிவாதி கள். 2. The originator and defender of a controversy, தருக்கவாதியும்பிரதிவாதியும். 3. Persons secretly leaning to both parties or sides, இருதிறத்தாரையுஞ்சார்ந்துநிற்போர். உபயவோசை, s. [prov. com. ஸ்திரப்பிக்க.] To make firm, solid, to harden, consolidate, உறுதிப்படுத்த. திறமானசம்பளம், s. Good wages. திறவாளி--திறவான், s. An able man, a knowing man. சரீரத்திறம், s. Constitution or state of body to be known by a doctor in prescribing medicine, &c., சரீரக்கூறு. 2. Bodily vigor, தேகபலம். கல்வித்திறம், s. Great learning. திறனில்யாழ், s.
