kīrtti (p. 113) s. Fame, celebrity, glory, renown, reputation, good character, name, distinction, notoriety, popularity, புகழ், Wils. p. 224. KEERTTI. அவனுடையகீர்த்திபரவுகிறது. His fame spreads. கீர்த்திக்க, inf. To praise, extol; to exalt in praise, புகழ. கீர்த்தியைக்கெடுக்க, inf. To destroy one's reputation, to bring into disrepute, to defame, disgrace. கீர்த்தித்துப்பேச, inf. To praise, to extol. 2. (Rott.) To determine, to denote. கீர்த்தித்துச்சொன்னான். tur (p. 249) s. A prefix used in combination signifying evil, ill, bad, deficient; it is often changed to ற், before the hard letters, to ன் before the soft, as துன்மார்க்கம். Before இடையினம், there is no change. Sometimes ர் is dropped and the relative letter takes its place--as துச்சரிதம், ஒருபசர்க் கை. (See துஷ்.) W. p. 414. DUR. துரதிஷ்டம், s. Ill luck. A petulant or insolent man. துர்ச்சனனைக்கண்டால்தூரவிலகு...... Abstain from an insolent person. துர்ச்செய்கை, s. Evil action. துர்ச்சொப்பனம், s. (also துச்சொப்ப னம்.] A bad or ominous dream. துர்த்தேவதை, s. A malignant demon. துர்ப்பலம், s. Weakness, feebleness, thinness, emaciation, பலவீனம். 2. (fig.) The state of being reduced in circumstances, சிறுமை. முன்னமேதுர்ப்பலைஅதிலுங்கர்ப்பிணி. Before weak, and now also pregnant; or poor, and under a heavy fine. துர்ப்பலன், s. nl (p. 270) --நல்ல, adj. [in combin. before க, ச, த, ப. changed to ற் and commonly before ம to ன்.] Good, excellent, beneficial, eminent, நன்மையான. 2. Acceptable, desirable, agreeable, ஏற்ற. 3. Abundant, copious, மிகுந்த. 4. Much, intence, அதிகமான. 5. Auspicious, propitious, fortunate, நன்னிமித்தமுள்ள.--Note. It is sometimes combined with words of had meaning to show intensity, as நல்லகள் ளன், a consummate thief. நல்லகாயம், s. Severe wound. நல்லகாய், s. Abundant fruit, மிகுகாய். இந்ததடவைநல்லகாய்.
