Omens by lines on the palms; palmistry. முகக்குறி, s. Indications from the face. துர்க்குறி, s. A bad sign, a bad omen. நற்குறி, s. A good sign, a good omen. மரணக்குறி, s. Signs of death; omens of death--as pointed out by the shastras. குறிகண்டுநோதல், v. noun. [in parturition.] Labor pains after the discharge of liquor amnii, or the first presentation. குறிகாண, inf. To appear--as signs, or symptoms. 2. To forebode, to betoken, to typify. 3. [in parturition.] To have slight discharges at or before the presentation. குறிபோட--குறியிட, inf. To mark, sign, line, rule, &c. குறிசுட, inf. To brand marks upon cattle. குறிக்கோள், v. noun. strenuous perseverance in any one persuit; attachment to one object, பராயணம். 2. Union, unity, congruity, ஒற்றுமை. 3. The act of comprehending or understanding, கிரகித்தல். 4. The state of being distinguished or illustrious, மேன்மைப்பாடு. குறிக்கொள்வோர், s. To observe signd; to prognosticate. குறிபார்த்துச்சொல்ல, inf. To tell people their fortunes. குறிகெட்டவன், s. A dishonest and shameless man; an unprincipled man. குறியானவன்--குறியுள்ளவன், s. A principle man. 2. A respectable, honest, upright man; a man of principle. குறிகாரன்--குறிப்புக்காரன், s. A good marks-man. குறிதப்ப, inf. To miss the mark. 2. To fail--as events foretold by fortunetellers. குறிதப்பாமற்போட்டான். He shot at a mark without missing it; he hit the mark. குறிபார்த்துச்சுட, inf. tur (p. 249) s. A prefix used in combination signifying evil, ill, bad, deficient; it is often changed to ற், before the hard letters, to ன் before the soft, as துன்மார்க்கம். Before இடையினம், there is no change. Sometimes ர் is dropped and the relative letter takes its place--as துச்சரிதம், ஒருபசர்க் கை. (See துஷ்.) W. p. 414. DUR. துரதிஷ்டம், s. Ill luck. A petulant or insolent man. துர்ச்சனனைக்கண்டால்தூரவிலகு...... Abstain from an insolent person. துர்ச்செய்கை, s. Evil action. துர்ச்சொப்பனம், s. (also துச்சொப்ப னம்.] A bad or ominous dream. துர்த்தேவதை, s. A malignant demon. துர்ப்பலம், s. Weakness, feebleness, thinness, emaciation, பலவீனம். 2. (fig.) The state of being reduced in circumstances, சிறுமை. முன்னமேதுர்ப்பலைஅதிலுங்கர்ப்பிணி. Before weak, and now also pregnant; or poor, and under a heavy fine. துர்ப்பலன், s. Ill result as predicted in astrology. அமங்கலப்பயன். 2. Bad fruit, ill consequence. துர்ப்பாக்கியம்--தௌர்ப்பாக்கியம், s.
