tuvṭṭu (p. 249) கிறேன், துவட்டினேன், வேன், துவட்ட, v. a. To wipe off moisture after bathing, &c., துடைக்க. 2. To boil or stew with little water so as to make the food thick, கறிதுவட்ட. 3. To boil meat, நெருப்பிற் புலர்த்த. 4. To cause to adhere, தோயச்செய்ய; [ex துவள், v.] (c.) துவட்டிக்கொண்டுசாப்பிட்டுவிடலாம். The curry is so good that, to eat the rice, it is only necessary to dip into it the tip of the finger. துவட்டல்--துவட்டுதல், v. noun. Wiping, stewing, &c., as the verb. 51) *

tuvḷ (p. 249) --துவளு, கிறது, துவண்டது, துவளும், துவள, v. n. To waver, shake, move, vacillate, to be agitated, அசைய. 2. To be flexible slender, weak, unable to sustain a weight--as a tender tree, or (fig.) a lady's waist, &c., மெல்லியதாயிருக்க. 3. To fall, faint, droop under a load, &c., திவள. (See சவளு 4. To wrap, bend, shrink, twist, as boards in the sun, &c. நெளிய. 5. To become thick and dry as curry. இறுக. 6. To become rumpled, deprived of gloss, as a new-cloth, கசங்க. 7. (in an impersonal sense.) To stick to, adhere, as oil, thick liquid, dust, or coloring matter, to the hand or a cloth; to stain, blot, color, soil, daub, smear, ஒட்ட. 8. To become dry, as plants under a scorching sun, வாட. (c.) குழந்தைஅல்லித்தண்டுபோலத்துவண்டுகிடக்கிறது. The child is weak as the stalk of a lily. துவளாமல்காரியம்பார்க்க. To manage another's business without deriving any profit to one's self. To get business done without expense. பாலைத்துவளக்காய்ச்சினான். He boiled the milk until it was thick. துவணீர், s. Filth, slimy matter about a new born infant; [ex நீர்.] துவளச்சமைக்க, inf. tūtuḷai (p. 253) s. [com. தூதுவளை.] A shrub, three-lobed nightshade, Solanum trilobantum, L. தூதளங்கனிவாயாள். The தூதளை mouthed (red mouthed) damsel. (p.) தூதுளங்காய்வற்றல், s. The fried berry of the above, used as curry, or a relish with food. தூதுளம்பழம், s. The ripe berry of the தூதுளை. தூதுவளைநெய், s. Ghee medicated with the juice of the தூதுளை berry, used for coughs, &c. 29) *

vḷai (p. 379) கிறேன், ந்தேன், வேன், வளைய, v. n. To bend, கோண. 2. To become crooked, கூன. 3. To be twisted, மடங்க. 4. v. a. To besiege, to hover round, to surround, கோல; [from Sa. Vala.] பட்டணத்தைவளைந்துகொண்டார்கள். They besieged the city. உடம்புவளைந்துவேலைசெய்கிறது........Working hard, (lit.) bending one's body and working. உடம்புவளையாதவன். A lazy fellow. அதுவளைந்துகொடுக்கிறது. It yields to pressure. வளைதடி, s. A short curved cudgel used in the chase or in battle. வளையக்கொடி, s. [prov.] A kind of torture. See அண்ணந்தாள். வளையக்கோலுதல், v. noun. Encompassing, surrounding, environing, monopolizing. வளைசல், v. noun. Crookedness, a curve, curvature, a bend. 2. A house-yard, a compound. வளைவு, v. noun. Crookedness, கோணல். 2. A circle, வட்டம். 3. An arch, வில்வ டிவு. 4. See வளவு. வளைவளக்க, inf. To measure a field. வளைவாணி, s. A hook. வளைவுவளைக்க, inf. [sometimes வளைவு குத்த.] To vault, to arch over. வளைவுவளைக்கிறவன்--வளைவுவளைப்பான்......One who makes an arched roof. வளைவெடுக்க, inf. To straighten what is crooked. 63)

vḷai (p. 379) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To bend, to inflect, மடக்க. 2. To tie, to bind, கட்ட. 3. To hinder, தடுக்க. 4. To carry off, to sweep away, to steal, வார. 5. To environ, surround, encircle, encompass, besiege, சுற்றிக்கோல. கள்ளர்அவனைவளைத்துக்கொண்டார்கள். Thieves surrounded him. வளைத்துவளைத்துக்கட்டுகிறான்.
