kol (p. 146) --கொல்லு, கிறேன், கொன்றேன், வேன், கொல்ல, v. a. To take life, kill, slay, murder, கொலைசெய்ய. 2. To deprive mercury of its metallic properties by oxidation; to kill mercury, &c., இரசமுதலிய வற்றைக்கொல்ல. (c.) 3. (fig.) nil (p. 277) நிற்கிறேன், நின்றேன், நிற்பேன், நிற்க, v. n. To stand, செங்குத்தாய்நிற்க. 2. To stand still; to stop, halt, tarry, தரிக்க. 3. To abide, endure, continue, தங்க. 4. To cease, be discontinued, stopped, suspended, ஒழிய. 5. To be steadfast, to preserve, persist in a course of conduct, நிலைநிற்க. 6.
