Simple or original names --as distinguished from ஆகுபெயர் or derived names, செம்பொருளையுணர்த்தும்பெயர். இயற்றமிழ், s. The tamil language, தமிழ்ப்பாஷை; of which there are two principal divisions, செந்தமிழ், high, or polished Tamil and கொடுந்தமிழ், common, or unpolished Tamil. A further division is இயற்றமிழ், prose, இசைத்தமிழ், poetic, and நாடகத்தமிழ், dramatic Tamil. For particulars, see these in their places. 3. Nature, state, quality, நீர்மை--Note.
