nīḷu (p. 277) --நீள், கிறது, நீண்டது, நீளும், நீள, v. n. To lengthen, grow long; to be elongated; to grow or be tall as persons or trees; to reach out, stretch one's self out, நீண்டிருக்க. 2. To extend itself, தூரமாக. 3. To grow, increase, to be augmented, அதி கரிக்க. 4. To be protracted, delayed; to be tedious, தாமதப்பட. 5. To run, ஓட. கைநீள, inf. To give liberally. See கை. நீண்டகதை, s. Obedience of submission of wives to their husbands, கணவனுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகை. பதிஞானம், s. The knowledge of the Supreme Being. See சிவஞானம், சொரூபஞானம். பதிநிச்சயம்--பதிநிண்ணயம்--பதிநிர் ண்ணயம்-பதிநிதானம்--பதிநியமம், s. Gertain knowledge of the existence, character, &c., of the Deity. பதிப்பிரஞ்ஞன், s. One who knows the way, வழியறிந்தவன். பதிப்பிராணை, s. A faithful wife, பதிவி ரதை. பதிவிரதம், s. Fidelity of a wife; sometimes பதிவிரதைத்தன்மை. (c.) பதிவிரதாதருமம்-பதிவிரதாபுண்ணியம், s. The virtue or religious merit of a faithful wife. பதிவிரதாபத்தினி-பதிவிரதி-பதிவிரதை, s. A chaste and-virtuous wife. 18)
