A kind of grass, ஓர்வகைப்புல். ஊசிமல்லிகை, s. A kind of jasmine, ஓர்வகைமல்லிகை. ஊசிமிடறு, s. A narrow throat like a needle, சிறுதொண்டை. ஊசிமிடறுந்தாழிவயிறும். A throat like a needle and a belly like a washerman's caldron--a glutton. ஊசிமுனை, s. The point of a needle, ஊசிநுனி. ஊசிமுனைநாட்டுமிடமாகிலும்நான்கொடுக்கிறதில் லை. A weight in gold equal to that of a person, presented to a brahman, as an atonement for sin; or a deed of merit. துலாபாரந்தூங்க--துலாபாரமேந்த, inf. To get into scales as a person to make up a weight of gold equal to himself. துலாப்படி, s. Steelyard. 2. A large weight for a balance. துலாப்பட்டை, s. nāmm (p. 273) s. Name, appellation, especially of a deity, பெயர். W. p. 461. NAMAN. 2. [vul. ராமம்.] The Vaishnuva sectarian mark on the forehead, திருநாமம். (சது.) 3. The white clay, or earth, used for the tridental mark, திருமண். (c.) 4. Reputation, celebrity, கீர்த்தி. 5. That part of the scales which incloses the needle, நிறைகோலின்நடு. 6. Fear, அச்சம்.--There are in use two kinds of marks, as பட்டைநாமம், a large mark worn by some Vaishnuvas ostentatiously; கிள்ளுநாமம், கீறுநாமம், a small mark worn in compliance with custom. நாமகரணம், s. (St.) Naming a child, commonly on the twelfth day for the brahman castes, the thirteenth for the royal caste, &c., being the day after purification. நாமகரணம்பண்ணுதல், v. noun. Naming a child with prescribed ceremonies. நாமக்கட்டி, s. Lumps of white clay, as நாமம், 3. நாமக்காரர், s. [plu.] Vaishnuvas. See நாமதாரி. நாமக்குச்சரி--நாமக்குச்சிலி, s.
