nāḷ (p. 275) s. [Gen. நாளின், acc. நாளை, poet. நாளினை.] A day of twenty-four hours, a natural day, from sun rise to sun rise, இராப்பகல்கொண்டபொழுது. 2. Time in general, காலம். 3. An auspicious day, பெரு நாள். 4. A lunar asterism. See நட்சத்தி ரம். (c.) 5. A lunar or astrological day; the period of the moon's passage through an asterism, சந்திரனாள். 6. The name of a metrical foot of the class. அசைச்சீர். 7. adj. New, as நாட்பூ--Note. In combination, the last letter is changed by rule. நாளொருவண்ணமும்பொழுதொருமேனியுமாய்வளர் ந்துவிட்டது. It has grown every day and every hour. நாள்வாய்பெறினும். Even in the early part of the day. (p.) இதுஅதுக்குநாளல்ல. This is not the proper time or season. நாடோறும், adv. [for நாள்தோறும்.] Daily. 2. Agreement of the lunar constellations in the horoscope of persons to be united in marriage. See தசப்பொருத்தம். 2. One of the ten things in the choice of the first word of a poem. Fordableness, ford, தாண்டுதுறை.-- The நிலை, (attitudes) in archery are; 1. பைசாசம், standing with one leg straight and the other bent, as devils are said to stand; 2. மண்டலம், standing with both knees bent out; 3. ஆலீடம், standing with the right knee bent out, and the left foot advanced; 4. பிரத்தியாலீடம், standing with the left knee bent and the right foot advanced.
