kṉi (p. 102) கிறது, ந்தது, யும், ய, v. n. To ripen--as fruits, to grow ripe, to be ripe, mellow, luscious, sweet, பழுக்க. 2. To be over-ripe, நைய. 3. To be in flames, to glow, பழுக்கக்காய. 4. To grow tender, to melt, be soft--as the heart by affection, sexual love, devotion, &c., கரைய. 5. To be melted, to be in a state of fusion, உருக. 6. (p.) To be cheerful, be glad, மனங்க ளிக்க. 7. To be excessively enraged, கோபி க்க. 8. v. a. To bury, conceal, hide, புதைக்க. கிழங்குகனியவெந்தது. The yams are well boiled. கனிந்தசொல், s. Sweet words. கனிந்தபழம், s. Ripe fruit. கனிந்தபாடம், s. A well-learnt lesson, verse, &c., well committed to memory. கனியப்பண்ண, inf. To cause to grow tender--as fruits, or the heart. 2. To pacify, conciliate, win over. கனியப்பழுக்க, inf. To ripen to mellowness. கனியவெந்தஇரும்பு, s. Red-hot iron. கனியவைக்க, inf. To force the ripening of fruits. மனங்கனிய, inf. kṉṟu (p. 102) கிறேன், கன்றினேன், வேன், கன்ற, v. a. To become sore--as with a blow; as the feet with walking; the hands with first using a tool, &c., காயத்தினாற்கன்ற. 2. To be burnt with the sun, வெயிலினால்மு கங்கன்ற. 3. To grow hard and unfit for use --as fruits by injury in their growth--as plantains by the application of too much heat, in smoking or forcing them, நைய. 4. To grow hard and unrelishable--as vegetable curries, through failure of heat in cooking, பதனழிய. (c.) 5. (p.) To have the feelings wounded, to be aggrieved, விசனப் பட. 6. To be violent, enraged, கடுங்கோபங் கொள்ள.--Note. போதல் is commonly joined with the gerund of this verb. கன்றும்வயவேந்தர். Violent kings that are enraged. அவன்கைகன்றிப்போயிற்று. His hand is hurt, bruised, &c. கன்றினகுரல், s. Harshness of voice, deep or gutteral voice. கன்றுகாமம், s. Headstrong lusts. கன்றுசினம், s. Violent anger. கன்றல், s. Anger, கடுப்பு. 2. nōy (p. 285) s. Malady, distemper, disease, ailment; sickness in men, cattle, trees, or crops, நைதல். 2. Chronic or settled disease, பழம்பிணி. 3. Being bedridden. நோய்க்கிடங்கொடோல். Take sickness in time. (Avv.) நோயாளி, s. A sick person, a patient. நோயாளிவிதியாளியானால்பரிகாரிபோராளியாவான்..... If the patient's destiny be goof, the doctor gets the credit of it. நோயின்மை, v. noun. neg. Full, uninterrupted health and prosperity. நோயில்லாவாழ்வேவாழ்வு. That is prosperity which no sickness or disease interrupts. நோயெச்சம், s. A reduced disease. See எச்சம். (p.) நோய்கொள்ள--நோய்பிடிக்க, inf. To fall sick, to become diseased. நோய்மருந்து, s.
