As if the thing sought for, had struck against the foot; i. e. getting accidentally the thing desired. நெஞ்சிலேதட்டிப்பார். Knock at your own breast, and inquire. பல்லைத்தட்டிவிடு. noṟukku (p. 284) கிறேன், நொறுக்கினேன், வேன், நொறுக்க, v. a. [sometimes improp. நொருக்கு.] To break, to crack, to crush, to smash to pieces, to make havoc, பொடியாக்க. 2. To bruise, to contuse, நருக்க. (c.) நொறுக்கரிசி, s. [inf. நொறுக்கரிசிபட.] Rice broken through neglect in pounding, நொறுங்கியவரிசி. 2. [com. நறுக்கரிசி.] Rice half boiled, when it is most crumbling, used to denote a certain stage in the boiling rice. நொறுக்கரிசிப்பதம், s. [com. நறுக்கரிசிப் பதம்.] The state of boiling rice when it crumbles. நொறுக்கல்நெல், s. Paddy made too tender by moisture. நொறுக்கு, v. noun. Crushing, contusion, &c., as the verb. 2. (fig.) Beating, thrashing one lustily, அடிக்கை--as நொறு க்குநொறுக்கென்றுநொறுக்கினான், he gave him a good drubbing. நொறுக்குச்சக்கந்தம், s. Mockery, a joke, a jeer, பரிகாசம். (R.)
