pḷ (p. 303) s. The பள்ளர் caste, as பள்ளு-In. Jaffna it is used with its grammatical change, as பட்குடி, &c. பள்ளக்குடி, s. A family of the பள் ளர் caste. பள்ளப்பயல், s. A பள்ளன். 2. [in contempt.] A slave, a fellow. பள்ளப்பாட்டுபாடுதல், v. noun Abusing, or calling one a . பள்ளப்பிள்ளை, s. A man or woman of the பள் caste. பள்ளர், s. [sing. பள்ளன், fem. பள்ளி, பள்ளச்சி, பள்ளத்தி.] A low dependant caste employed in husbandry, &c., under their feudal lords, a peasant tribe dwelling in the south, supposed to be a change of மள்ளர். பள்ளர்சேரி--பள்ளச்சேரி, s.
