ūṭu (p. 69) கிறேன், ஊடினேன், வேன், ஊட, v. n. To feign a dislike--as a wife to her husband to increase his affection, பிணங்க. 2. To be displeased and unsocial --as a wife with her husband, refusing his caresses, &c., பிரிய. 3. Sometimes to be at variance--as a husband and wife, விரோதிக்க. 4. To be impatient with, வெ றுக்க. nāṇu (p. 273) கிறேன், நாணினேன், வேன், நாண, v. n. To feel bashful, to be modest, or coy, as a woman, கூச. 2. to be shy, to shrink back, as from a forbidding sight; to feel repugnance or dislike, பின்னிட. 3. To acquiesce or yield through regard, அட ங்க. 4. To shrink from the touch, as some vegetables; to yield, as disease to medicine, வாட. 5. To be shy, and run away, as snakes, &c., are said to do when certain herbs or roots are shewn, அஞ்ச. 6. [prov.] To be influenced unfavorably as some trees or plants by nearness to the cocoa; to be uncongenial, to each other, as the red and white lotus, பிணங்க. (c.) மாமியாரைக்கண்டுமருமகள்நாணுகிறதுபோலே..... As the doughter-in-law is embarrassed in presence of her mother-in-law. நாணி, s. A modest person, நாணமுடை யாள். 84)

piṇkkm (p. 315) --பிணக்கு, s. Entanglement--as in a crowd, pressure, நெருக்கம். 2. Twist, plat, platting, பின்னுகை. 3. (c.) Love-quarrel, disagreement, ஊடல்; [ex பிணங்கு, v. பிணக்கன், s. A quarrelsome person, one who is cross. (நன்.) பிணக்குத்தீர்க்க, inf. To remove illwill and restore friendship. 14)

piṇngku (p. 315) கிறேன், பிணங்கினேன், வேன், பிணங்க, v. n. To be tangled, twisted, linked together, entangled; to be bound-as the soul to matter, பின்னிக்கொள்ள. 2. (c.) To quarrel slightly, to quarrel as lovers, ஊடற்பட. 3. To be dissatisfied, displeased, disaffected, reserved, to be plagued, மனக் குறையாக. 4. To be pressed, to become close, நெருங்க. (சது.) தகப்பனோடேபிணங்கிக்கொண்டுதிரிகிறான். He is at variance with his father. 16)

muṟukku (p. 359) கிறேன், முறுக்கினேன், வேன், முறுக்க, v. n. To wrest, distort, pervert, twist; to twist a rope, திரிக்க. 2. To chafe the limbs of another to promote the circulation of blood, முறுக்கிப்பிடிக்க. 3. v. n. To be angry, to chafe, to be irritable, பிணங்க. (c.) ஏன்நீமுறுக்கிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறாய். Why are you angry? முறுக்கித்தேய்க்க, inf. To chafe the hands and legs in rubbing on oil for bathing. முறுக்கிவிட, inf. To screw the pins of a fiddle, &c. 2. (fig.) To induce, to instigate. அவனைமுறுக்கிவிட்டுச்சும்மாஇருந்தான். He was quiet, having instigated the man. முறுக்கு, v. noun. A kind of cake, ஓர்பண்ணிகாரம். 2. Disagreement, discord, rancor, பிணக்கு. 3. Wresting, twisting, முறுக்குகை. 4. (fig.) An upright posture of a person, in full dress, நெறிப்பு. 5. An authoritative air, impertinence, வீறாப்பு. 6. Compactness of an unblown flower, as தளை. இந்தக்கயிறுஅதிகமுறுக்கேறியது. This cord is too much twisted. ஆள்வெகுமுறுக்காயிருக்கிறான். He is well dressed. கொடிமுறுக்கு, s. Overtwisted rope, twine or thread. முறுக்கடிக்க, inf. To oppose another's command. முறுக்கவரை, s. A kind of bean, அவரை, Dolichos tetragonolabus. முறுக்காணி, s. [poet. மாடகம்.] Screw for a violin, lute, &c. முறுக்காற்றுதல், v. noun. Loosening what is twisted too much. முறுக்கிழை, s. Well twisted cottonthread. 2. A kind of striped cottoncloth, ஓர்வகைச்சேலை. முறுக்குக்கொம்பு, s. Winding horns of cattle. முறுக்குடைத்தல்--முறுக்குவாங்குதல், v. noun. Untwining or untwisting. முறுக்குப்பணிகாரம், s. A twisted cake. முறுக்குப்பண்ண, inf. To be saucy, haughty. முறுக்குமீசை, s. A twisted mustachio, commonly of wrestlers. 2)
