Benignant appearance or manifestation, &c. (p.) சுபசோபனம், s. Joyful tidings, or events--as of the birth of a child, or of a girl's becoming marriageable. (c.) சுபசேதி--சுபசெய்தி, s. Joyful tidings, happy events. (p.) சுபதினம், s. (Astrologically.) A fortunate day, நல்லநாள். 2. (R.) A mode of salutation somewhat like 'Good day' but in implies, that the meeting is fortunate. (Modern.) சுபத்தானம்--சுபஸ்தானம், s. [in astrol.] An auspicipus or favorable position of a planet; [ex தானம்.] (p.) சுபமங்களம், s. Auspicious benediction, by brahmans, &c. சுபமஸ்து, s. Salutation, success, prosperity; a sanscrit term of benediction at the opening of a treatise, &c., மங்களச்சொல்; [ex அஸ்து.] சுபமிருத்து, s. A good or auspicious death. (p.) சுபயோகம், s. Auspicious yogas, being eighteen out of twenty-seven. (See யோகம்.) 2. The conjunction of an auspicious day of the week, phase of the moon and lunar constellation.
