(சது.)-- of tigers there are different kinds, கொடிப்புலி, கழுதைப்புலி, சிறுபுலி, சிறுத்தைப்புலி, பெரும்புலி or வேங்கைப்புலி, &c., which see. புலிபோலப்பாய்ந்தான். He pounced [on me] like a tiger. புலிக்குட்டி, s. A tiger's whelp. புலிக்கொடியோன், appel. n. A king of the solar dynasty, (lit.) whose flag was a tiger. புலித்தடுக்கி--புலித்தொடக்கி, s. A prickly shrub, said to obstruct the passage of tiger, C&ae;salpinia. (Rox.) புலித்தோல், s. Tiger's skin, regarded as a pure seat for the strict religionist. 2. (p.) A kind of flower shrub. See கொன்றை. புலிநெய், s. Tiger's fat, as a medicament. புலிப்பனை, s. [prov.] A tiger's den. புலிப்பாய்ச்சல், v. noun. Springing or leaping of a tiger. புலிமுகக்கடுக்கன்--புலிமுகப்பணி, s. A kind of female ear-ornament resembling a tiger's mouth. புலிமுகச்சிலந்தி--புலிமெய்ச்சிலந்தி, s. A tarantula, ஓர்விஷசெந்து. See சிலந்தி. புலியுறுமி, appel. n. [prov.] A kind of drum, sounding like the growl of a tiger, ஓர்பறை. 2. A watchman's rattle, கிறிச் சான். 3. A rattle to scare away birds, புள்ளோட்டுங்கருவி. புலியுறுமுதல், v. noun. Growling of a tiger. புலியூர், s. A name of Chillumbrum, said to be the residence of a Rishi with a tiger's leg, சிதம்பரம். புலியேறு, s. A male tiger, ஆண்புலி. 3)
